baek saeon is the master of literal reading into the lines lol. maybe they've done it countless times that he's able to read her text from a weird angle. he has the ability to comprehend it even when she hasn't finished her typing lol.
but when I think about it, it's brilliant for the writer to make his character as an ex news anchor. it was his job to read the floating texts in a flash. so he must have a fast reading pace and reading comprehension. sometimes I feel like heeju just flashed her phone in front of him for a few seconds and he could read all that.
love the analogy: news anchor, reading the lines.
in case anyone's wondering if it's possible. realistically it is, because he's a former news anchor.
I don't know the training system to become a news anchor, but when I was in middle school our teacher trained us to enhance our reading speed. we had to read a certain text and to monitor how many words per minute we were able to read within the specified time. and did it repeatedly. I suppose the discipline to become a professional should be more than that. and if you do that almost every day, that's possible to read a text in a quick second.
edit: just did a quick search and a pro news anchor has around 150 - 175 wpm.
let's assume that heeju said two sentences in a text and per sentence has an average of 7 words. just to make it easy to count, let's say baek saeon's average speed is 120 wpm. that makes two words per second. then it'll take him 7 seconds to read her text.
and for the record, heeju doesn't always say something that much.
wow rewatching it without the subtitle hits different. their conversation felt much more personal and heartwarming that I had a guilt. because it felt like I was invading their privacy.
it's like when I prefer to eat plain meatball soup without spicy sauce and soy sauce. you know when the food is good, then it's god even without the extra condiments. sometimes additional seasoning ruins the original taste. sometimes the subtitle distracts me.
I'm amazed at how I can focus more on their facial expression. good acting and well delivered emotion can break through the language boundaries. and you kinda still remember their dialogue anyway. so that doesn't really become an issue.
I believe there's another "thing" despite us. but the supernatural thingy doesn't always convince me in general. but I believe in yys's acting skill. he can act as an apple chip for all I care and I'd eat his crumbs.
yesterday I saw a post when yoo jaesuk saw yoo yeonseok and sehun seating side to side and told them that they looked alike. and then there was lee kwangsoo who sat at the back and said something like "actually I don't want to be the one who said it myself but we heard it a lot. that the three of us look like siblings". the way he inserted himself π
but strangely when I rewatched the episodes I couldn't unsee it. I saw kwangsoo in baek saeon. I hate kwangsoo for infecting my brain ππ
and as if it wasn't enough, today I saw a post saying that kim jong un oppa was born in the same year as yoo yeonseok ππππ did it how he got the role as the great leader in the movie steel rain 2? π
I once fell off of a mountain about 800' and I didn't even get a scratch. So I know that plot element in this…
that's right. biology said if it doesn't hurt your vitals, bones and doesn't dislocate your muscles, then you're safe.
I once just slipped on my front yard. my foot didn't even lift an inch from the earth's surface and I couldn't wear my own clothes for about two weeks.
when I was a kid I slipped and fell from a cliff. my body was literally rolling to the ground and I didn't get a scratch too. I only felt dizzy for a little while.
you can watch drama with younger casts if this doesn't suit your preference. if you're anti romance and/or anti cliche trope, you don't have to watch this.
even you can always skip drama rated 19+ if that doesn't sit right with your moral. if you can't stand to see blood, it's okay not to watch some crime drama. you don't have to watch sageuk if you're not into historical either.
I mean there's a tag and genre for a reason. just be wise to yourself and decide wich drama you can watch according to your taste, age, etc.
you don't have the obligation to watch every drama just because it's popular.
no one is forcing you to like this. it's okay not to watch or to drop if you don't like it.
remember that the production team has a specific audience in mind when they created a drama. if this doesn't suit you, maybe you're just not a part of their target market. and that's okay.
just don't force your preference on this too. just because you don't like it, doesn't mean the market has to change for you. I'm sure there's a genre that you're okay with out there.
The kimchi PPL in episode 8 was very thought-provoking, and a little bit sad.
at the beginning of ep 8 I did expect to see "it" from a different angle. but what's with the zoom out right? like wdym I have to watch a tower and the halmoni kimchi instead π yes it's indeed very sad.

it's interesting everything's starting to be revealed one by one.
if he saw it when he met the grandpa, he could've just said so. but the way he talked, it looked like he knew the ring but he didn't know the owner.

when saeon had a nightmare in ep 7, the person who dipped him into the lake was seen to wear a dragon ring. and that person was his grandpa.

okay, thank you
and their first meeting was kinda like that too.
even if there's something, maybe they won't go into the detail and will let the viewers to use their own imagination to know what will happen lol
