Joo Won was given another love interest, and I don’t think that was needed. The one who needs another love interest…
Yes, I agree on the second part. The only glimpse of the conflict is that she says to Kang Doo that she will not leave him to die and that now she will stay until the end. However, what I missed is a scene in which she struggles with herself and says that it's ok, I shall hide my guilt feelings so my loved one has a happy ending or that in the end what matters most is her love.
One link I found is what Moon Soo tells to Kang Doo in order to say that it is okay to let Sang Man donate part of his liver:
"Going through with the surgery, you think you're being greedy, right? But you're wrong. You're not the one being greedy, but it's we who are being greedy. No matter how difficult it is for you, it's our greed that wants you alive next to us. So you don't have a choice on this matter. Even though it may be hard, you just need to live."
Which is more or less what Kang Doo might feel about Moon Soo getting out first during the Mall S disaster. At that moment, Kang Doo was just being genuinely selfless. But if you really want to overanalyze this act - *cough* like K-drama characters do *cough* - then it would translate into that the greedy one is not Moon Soo - wanting to live - but Kang Doo - wanting to save her, even with the risk of him not getting alive .
I didn't know how to handle the last two episodes, it seemed like suddenly the writers needed to add a "plot twist"…
Not to forget that Ji Ho can't find Se Hee because he moved out of his house. and she thinks she can't deliver the cake anymore. Can't you call his friends?
I adored this show for episodes 1-14, but those last two episodes REALLY made me uncomfortable. I felt insulted…
I didn't know how to handle the last two episodes, it seemed like suddenly the writers needed to add a "plot twist" and make them divorce. Honestly, it makes sense to divorce and start dating + marriage from stratch as they did not know exactly the status of their relationship. However, it was not handled properly and there was lack of communication from both sides. Even if it sounded crazy, Ji Ho could have said that she loved Se Hee but hated how the marriage started hence did not know if the love was real.
Actually, after reading you I'm more convinced that the maturity that Ji Ho showed talking to Ko did not match at all their next actions.
Anyway, I was disappointed with the drama overall not just the last two episodes. I was promised something fresh and new, and while sometimes it wanted to challenge the traditional idea of marriage I felt this sad feeling thoughout all the drama. One friend with her abusive work colleagues and the other fixed with the idea of marriage. And the idea of belonging somewhere and do what others do to have this feeling. I have to be honest that I skipped many scenes of the last two episodes that could have relied a more happy ending.
Lol, I didn't expect them to travel back to Joseon. Great. It seems that it works similar to Queen In Hyun's…
I don't think so. My guess is that he travels thanks to to the mysterious needles, so far he had them when he was about to die. I bet that one day he will try to save someone without the needles on him, so he won't time travel and will be severally injured. For more drama, the girl will have to save him with a difficult surgery :)
I like the drama but the female lead is so annoying. I get it, it should be realistic and the male lead has his…
I think the reason is different. In the past she realized that he was telling the truth from start and also she was amazed by his talent and reputation. Nonetheless, she was really disappointed to see that he let an old woman die after treating rich nobles just because. The reason she treated like shit again was this fact, she just thinks that he does not deserve to be a doctor. Hence the name of the drama in my opinion.
I guess that in the future they will show how he has grown this selfishness and greed due to his low origins. Or not, maybe he is just like this. The drama will show this evolution and learnings. Also, the girl needs to know that being a doctor is also being a human being and not a charity on legs, so a doctor is free to just follow their payed hours (of course, critical emergencies are another case).
Lol, I didn't expect them to travel back to Joseon. Great. It seems that it works similar to Queen In Hyun's Man, in the sense that he travels in time when he's about to die: first time when he was hit by arrows, second time when a bar almost goes through him.
Hi, I'm familiar with the image of blurred knives, however I'm curious about the censorship in Nine:…
Yes, it's probably for not getting sued. However in this case is not a product but a movie which is a classic and the censorship is pointless because the characters say the title of the movie (The bodyguard) several times.
Anyway, it is just something else in the pile of nonesenses they do. Like the Apple laptops with a tape or showing a guy covered with blood but then a knife is a not ok.
Hi, I'm familiar with the image of blurred knives, however I'm curious about the censorship in Nine: Nine time travels. I've recently watched this drama and I was surprised to see that all vynil discs were blurred out as well as some wall posters. The first one is a cover the male lead recovers from 1993 which is the ost of the movie The bodyguard. It was ridiculous to see the blurred cover occupying 100% of the screen. Has anyone else seen this? Which is the reason? All I can think about is for avoiding advertising or because they were probably american covers and posters. The only posters not being blurred had korean people in them.
Great idea and great article! :)
I just realized that, even though I love historical dramas I've only seen 0.75 of one drama in this list (Hwajeong, currently on hold).
Another name that I heard a lot is Prince Gwanghae: http://mydramalist.com/list/b3EB28D4
I can't understand the character which LeeYoo Ri is playing! How she feels about her ex? It's a mystery....
(I haven't seen episode 4)
I guess she still has some feelings for him as she didn't end things for good eight years ago. My bet is that she broke up with Cha Jung Hwan due to his mother, I guess the mother wouldn't let his son date a poor girl.
I AM A HERO is my favorite zombie manga, so I was worried that they would ruin the live action. But actually this…
Yes, it is actually a good live action. Nothing in comparison to the live action version of Parasyte and Attack on Titans, which were very disappointing to me.
I'm just watching the first part of the 2nd episode and I'm laughing out loud. They start running away by bicycle in Tossa de Mar and in one second they are suddenly in Girona, like, how? LOL These two places are around 40km apart from each other. One is by the sea and the other one not. Anyway, it is nice to see Tossa de Mar here.
Some Game of Thrones fans might notice that some scenarios already appeared in the last season 6. As far as I've seen, the hotel that looks like a palace is Sam Tarly's family's palace and also it appears one of the scenarios of Arya's chase scenes, the stairs where they start fighting the gangsters.
As per the drama itself, I'll watch this episode and let's see.
how are they going to make romance line between guy who just lost his love and still misses her and the daughter…
I have the theory that we will encounter some kind of twist at the end of the drama. Go Nan Gil loved her mother as a mother-like figure while he was working at the dumplings' shop. He was a criminal and this job helped him to leave this kind of life and integrate again in the society. Hong Na Ri's uncle messed up, her mother had a terminal disease or something like that and therefore her mother asked him to marry her in order to protect her properties and the shop. Also, at the end of the day, to protect her daughter.
When Hong Na Ri asked Go Nan Gil if he was in love with her mother, he didn't answer immediately. I guess because he didn't know how to answer honestly: he loved her mother as a friend and mother-like figure, but wasn't in love with her in a romantic way.
If not, it will be a bit difficult to accept a man who falls in love with the daughter of the woman he loved

Can Monday come alreadyyy? Only 6 episodes left and part of me wants this drama to go on forever yet another part…
Hi, maybe you already know this, but actually in Japanese monday is written using the character for moon. The same happens in spanish: luna (moon) and lunes (monday). The rest of the week days are related to planets. Perhaps is not a coincidence ;)

I laughed loudly with the Hyde, Jekyll, Me one: "has more commas and less Me". Lee Min Ho's reviews are too true that are sad.
