I saw this article and thanks to it I decided to watch the drama. When I read the synopses I discarded it since it make me watch it although I really like Lee Da Hee since I saw her on Running Man and I've seen some of her work and enjoyed it. This article made me want to watch it because it showed not only their personality but also how their relationship function, so I binge watched it . It is so good that I couldn't stop myself. Thank you for doing this article so that I didn't miss this drama.
Being a couple of actors or with an actor must be really hard. Having your partner being on screen couple with other person must bring jealousy and insecurity. Sometimes is better to call it quits than being in a relationship that didn't work out. Hope the best for both.
Nice article, I couldn't agree more, Ying Zheng from The King’s Woman was "The King", he was the reason why I enjoyed that drama so much, I hated to love and loved to hate him. He is the a true ruler despite all his wrong actions. I've seen other dramas/movies with king Se Jong but not this one. I might check out the other dramas since I haven't seen any.
Really enjoyed this article, especially because it actually happens in my relationship, I am the one who drives and goes fetch him (like is personal taxi) and sometimes instead of me sitting on his lap we switch and he will sit on my lap. Has I am as strong as him I would also do some squats giving him a piggyback or just to spin to make him go dizzy. Also while shopping sometimes I will carry most of the bags or the more heavy because I don't like not having anything to carry. Because I can relate with some of those I really enjoy when dramas show those most typical cliches with the roles switched.
I really enjoyed your article, it really shows you worked hard on those research and it is a statistically fun way to teach us how watching trends are prominent throughout the years. I found it funny because a lot of dramas that I watched had childhood connections, even when it was unnecessary, making me ironically think that korea must be small, with only a few people (which is not the case). Thanks to this article I binge watched the jugglers and I loved it, I always enjoyed cohabitation dramas but as you mentioned that they were enable to have power over one another I found it interesting and decided to watch, so thank you. I would find interesting if you did something similar about orphan characters since it is almost impossible to find a drama without any, and the difference over the years in the numbers between k dramas with bad boy ML and nice ML. I'll be waiting for your next article.
Come on! Did they really have to shoot him to pieces like that? Even if he was meant to die the writer could have…
I believe that most police having a paid killer who shot someone right in front of them, armed and that can be a possible threat to their lives would do the same and kill him on sight. I would, but they really shoot him a lot, probably so that any shoot would pierce the heart of those who loved the character and make us feel the pain he is suffering.
Really nice article. The villain that most disappointed me that I remember were Lee Jae Kyung from You Who Came from the Stars and also John Mayer from King2Hearts, I remember in both of them thinking why did they even bother with this villain. I don't get mad by villain with petty motives to be bad because it reflects what also happens in reality, there is bad people moved by greed for money, power, bad mothers-in-law that want their kids to be well married so they can live comfortably or because they simply don't like their children's partner, and also people that do bad thing for stupid or even no reason. The villains that I believe are best characterized are characters with some kind of mental illnesses as sociopaths and psychopaths as Pastor Baek from Save Me, generally they tend to pay more attention to those villains because in real life people with those are also very complex.
Nice article, it is really a struggle to find someone to watch or understand why we watch asian dramas. Well in my country I don't think it really matters to see something subtitle because here all the imported cinematography is subtitled except those for children so we aren't lazy when it comes to that, and although there are subtitles in my language I watch asian dramas/movies with english subtitles. My family thought I was kind of weird watching it, but my godblessed mother didn't even bait an eye, I actually showed her You're Beautiful when I was starting this addiction and she really enjoyed it. My boyfriend doesn't watch it unless forced but if I'm watching it alone next to him he actually will peek sometimes (but he enjoys watching some episodes of Runnning Man), and he can differentiate the country of the drama I'm watching which is nice since almost everyone around me can't, but still generally if they be wrong about the country they don't think they are all the same unless they actually look alike (in k-pop groups it is more common). My friends don't really care or judge ( at least in front of me) because I didn't do it when they where addicted to spanish/latin american dramas/series.
I stumbled upon your review and thanks to you I watch it. I can only say thank you, thank you so much. I binged watched it but I am still waiting for the last episode to be subbed. One of the best teenage love cast I watched from thailand. A plot that could have failed but ended up to being so nice. I am happy to have found your review.
Seems like I am in the minority but I absolutely loved the first two episodes of the drama. The "bad" English…
I couldn't agree more, Jang Ki Yong character was raised by a russian man so it would be normal to have a bad english accent, I was more mad by him speaking perfectly korean since his mentor wouldn't know how to speak fluently I find it weird for him to speak so well. The only problem that I had while watching it was in the first scene where Nana showed up, the cinematography seemed from another director because of the lightning and colors that in my opinion were kinda off point in relation to the rest of the drama. So far both actors gave a great performance and they have a good chemistry.
I dropped Boys over flowers too! Just not into so many unrealistic obstacles.
So true, it's so frustrating when a drama starts with a strong female lead but midway in the drama with her interactions with the male lead or others she becomes weak and submissive.
I've finished Love O2O and so did my chinese drama hating sister, so I think is really good, give it a second…
Maybe some day I'll try to see it again, the problem is it's been a while that I haven't seen it but when I try to think a memorable part in it nothing strikes me.

I also didn't like the way the ML treated the FL. I tend to avoid dramas were the FL is too submissive, naive, don't speak for herself and needs to be saved.
Nice article, it made me remember the first time I dropped a drama. After making myself go through the torture that was Mary Stayed Out All Night I made my mind and decided that dramas that I don't enjoy should be dropped as soon as possible, sometimes after only watching the first episode. The fist drama that I dropped was Boys Over Flowers which I watch until episode 16. Only a few make it directly to my dropped list, generally I put it on hold and when I check it to see if any is worth my time I usually tend to drop those who are already on hold for too long. My method to chose a drama generally starts with me liking the cover, checking the plot and in a few cases watching it because of the cast. Unfortunately I have been dropping a lot of chinese dramas that I enjoy due to their absurd length, most of the time they unnecessarily drag the plot with nonsense making me lose interest. To sum up I also dropped It Started with a Kiss (2005), Bring It On, Ghost and thinking hard if I should switch from on-hold to dropped with only 5 episodes to finish :My Amazing Boyfriend and Love O2O.
Hope the best for both.
