I don't usually pay attention to ratings but for me a low rated drama is below 6. A 6 can be a really flawed drama that can still be enjoyable. For me the poster, the synopses and tags are mostly what makes me watch a drama. Nowadays I don't remember rating below that because I learned to drop what I am not enjoying to watch.
Nice article. I also started watching it without much expectation but it surprised me. I remember watching the trailer and reading the synopses and deciding I wouldn't watch it and now I can't even remember what made me watch the first episode, probably was to pass time until True Beauty was subbed. So far I enjoyed every part of it, it is a really good drama, it has a great cast and a fantastic ost, I couldn't be more glad to have watched it so far.
Really nice article. I got really surprised because most of the time my criteria to choose a drama is in that exact order. I see a title that pokes my attention, check the poster, plot and if I am indecised the cast may make it or break it. I don't pay much attention to tags if the plot is detailed. Generally I check reviews/comments and episode count after watching some episodes. I actually noticed that especially last year I gave a lot of good ratings and that's because I started to know better what I wanted to watch, what to expect and stop watching it when I am not enjoying it or wait until I am in the mood to keep watching some genres.
I started to watch this when it was airing on TV while I was making lunch so I only saw the last 6 episodes that aired and now I am shocked to see in the commnets that Bora is the main lead, I thought it was Ahri.
Very nice article, I really enjoyed it. One of the biggest problems I have when watching a drama with my nice is having her always asking me why in the translation someone is called Unnie or Oppa and why in some cases they are siblings, friends or in a relationship.
I watched all your recommendations except Kingdom. My first drama was You're Beautiful which was the second drama I showed my niece (she doesn't like to hear foreign languages apart from english) and she also enjoyed it. I believe Strong Woman Dong Bong Soon is also a good starter drama.
My recommendation for new starters would be to drop dramas that you are not enjoying, there is plenty of choices and the less time you waste watching dramas that you don't enjoy you'll have more time to watch the right drama for you. It was one of my biggest problem when I started watching, I thought that I should stick with it because maybe eventually they would get better, which generally never happens.
Song Young Dal and Jang Ok Boon love story is one of the most beautiful that I've seen, it's in my opinion the perfect example of growing old with someone. I really enjoyed this drama, only wish to see more of Ga Hee's love life. Now I have to find a Sundays replacement.
Watched it for the cast and they didn't disappoint. Every week I am looking forward to watch this drama. Added Lee Moonsae- Spring Breeze to my playlist as soon as the music started playing at the end. Solid cast, good writing, heart warming story, great ost. I am kind of sad that it is almost over. Great article!
Nice article. I started watching thanks to your article, it is so overly dramatic that I cringed the whole time. Laughed more than when watching some comedies. I have mixed feelings, don't know if I'll keep watching it.
I really don't understand people in comments- saying AeJong is the bad one, like Dae Oh is pretty trashy and childish…
I actually agree, seen people do worse for less. I've also seen some remarks about her texting the pregnancy, it is quite shocking what real people actually text others, I've hear quite a few stories about pregnancies or child reveals by text messages, not that shocking to me.
You're so lucky to have never had spoilers ruin a show. I feel like it's a daily thing atm with IOTNBO & definitely…
I actually saw the World of the Married weeks after it ended without getting it spoiled, saw a lot of shows and comments were they said how good it was and decided to see the first episode and got hooked. I dodge spoilers like I am dodging bullets :D
I don't usually get hyped for a drama. I keep up with what dramas are making people hyped up before airing but as soon as they start I don't follow up the hype, if I decide to watch it while airing I'll only check some comments about it to see how other people react to it (see if anyone else is disappointed), if not I'll check the ratings(since most are already rated before the ending airing) and then I decide, if I want to watch. I don't recall having a drama spoiled. Great article!
