I'm so shocked this movie came out in 2000. Aside from the technology inside the world it feels really contemporary. It even looks kinda digital instead of filmic but I kinda doubt digital cameras in 2000 were able to produce that type of image. But maybe I'm wrong about that part. Great movie, but a bit long in some parts.
Yo the ending is messed up. But there is a lot to like about this movie. Unfortunately it takes a really long time to even get going and has some really draggy parts which sour the experience. I would have a hard time truely recommending it but it's also not something I would really recommend against watching if the slow pace doesn't turn people off.
I think the first one is a bit better but still a good movie. But I'm questioning if it's a good decision to make two more of the series. They gonna have a a hard time by the 4th installment
Had little expectation especially since 2+ hour movies can be a drag for me, but had tears in my eyes towards the end. Great movie with great actors. First saw Kim Hyang Gi not that long ago in Innocent Witness and she blew me away. Considering she is so good at this young of an age, she is starting to become one of my favorites. Can't wait how she will develop even further.
Only the praise about the CGI here I can't fully support. It's good but the issue is the greenscreen compositing doesn't blend good. Plus there are some minor paralax and spillage flaws which I probably only noticed because the greenscreen doesn't blend really good. They compositing of CGI into real world sets works great on the other hand, it's just the underworld that is a bit flawed.
I don't understand these reviews at all and especially not how it's one of the most viewed korean movies of all time. The comedy is pure cringe. From the start you can tell they tried to take like the worst of gag concert and tried to make it into a movie. It's not the type of cringe comedy like the Eric Andre show but just comedy that makes you cringe. If you look away from the comedy you get the most generic storyline I've seen in a long time. By the time the movie gets any steam you will already be bored out of your seat for an hour at which point you probably don't care about whatever the movie is trying to tell. They had decent actors and made a complete piece of forgettable cringe with it. That's an achievement. Sad to see more people watched this than stuff like Taxi Driver or basically any other good korean movie. Plus they used the Better Tomorrow Soundtrack at the end which feels like a complete insult.
This movie must be super uncomfortable to the Korean target audience. Stuff that everybody already knows but rubbing it really in condensed into a 2 hour movie. Definitely worth a watch
I feel like people will either love it or hate it. I'm definitely on the hate it side. The director made me have some expectations because I liked his other movies but this one is a complete failure for me.
What a mess. Not really worth the 2 hours. It does show potential in a few scenes to be able to explore some interesting topics but in the end it falls completely on it's face. Not so trash that it's worth watching for that but also not good.
this drama is giving me hotel del luna's vibe. it has a lot of similarities with it. the strong female lead, the…
Well both are studio dragon. They both even seem really similar in the directing and stuff like color grading. If you look at the transitions and framing you see it's probably more similar to hotel del luna than to most other kdramas.
I highly doubt there will be a 2nd season with have many years they skipped ahead
Lmao no producer is going to look at the mydramalist ratings. Also no way this is getting a 2nd season. It's a wonder they didn't cut it short to 12 episodes
The main issue I have with this movie is that the social commentary is just way to in your face. There is nothing subtle about it. And if you take away that component that movie doesn't have much going for it. If you just judge it as a standalone movie it would be kind of a failure. It's social commentary is kinda it's only saving grace but that is a tough job to carry a 2 hour movie
Boa is unbelievably pretty
It's pretty short so you waste less time
Yeah these are about all of them.
