Im happy for the new ship. I never liked james ... He is not a good actor or singer just beautiful, and its ok…
You can be happy for the new ship without bringing down the old one. James is an insanely talented actor and that can be seen from Bed Friend and how realistically he was able to portray mental health issues; especially panic attacks. You can like JJ more, but don't bring down James since he has a ton of skills to act out stuff that not many in the industry properly can.
ASTOUNDING work in The Director Who Buys Me Dinner. The story seems positively unrecognizable from the original Webtoon, which is a big relief, since that was a hot mess. You saved its story!!!!
Honestly I saw the comments and reviews for this and was hesitant to grow too fond of this drama since I was under the impression that it would be rushed towards the end, well- I grew attached, and I enjoyed every bit. Pulled an all-nighter just watching this. I might be too tired but as of now, freshly speaking- this is a 10/10 drama. And I don't have a single one rated as 10/10 in my list at the moment other than this one.
The trailer seemed way more promising than the pilot! I love the casting and the way they've settled aspects of the J-drama as well as the manga to this remake!
Found the pre-release video by chance on my recommended and I'm intrigued!! I'm loving the vibes and cinematography. Definitely picking this up as soon as the first episode is out!
U made analysis, which is great, but it was filled with subjective feelings towards the show, nothing objective.…
Of course I have my own opinions of this show and I did bring them to light in my original comment. However, for me, this drama isn't a pure 10/10 either. I mentioned it in my reply right above your reply, I do think this has it's fair amount of faults, and that I acknowledge that it's nowhere near perfect. I didn't like how the mood of the show shifted either, but I didn't mention it in the original comment, because my "analysis" was made to explain the aspects majority of the comments misunderstood. I did add some personal opinions as well, but I could've made those points without them, I purely wanted to share them so my comment would be readable and not too bland.
The gun part was one I admitted not knowing enough about. I don't have much to add to it so I said it was just my speculation.
About Kanghan's "sudden change", I'd disagree to a certain extent. Sure, his overall behaviour had shifted for the better, but as we can see in the latest episodes, he's far from stable. From my experience as a psychological author, I think that's a believable concept. I obviously don't know everything but I hope you'd consider my view as trustworthy, I don't have anything else to add, really.
Chemistry is subjective, that's why I didn't touch on the subject that much. I wasn't trying to convince anyone otherwise. I'm not trying to change anyone's mind, solely want people to understand things that may have been misunderstood.
I wrote this in a hurry, so please inform me if I explained something hastily and/or ignored any of your points. Thanks for replying!
I'm also curious to know who these invisible shooters for this series are lol. 99% of the comments here are trashing…
So, constructive criticism is "not sexy enough"? I personally haven't seen anything that actually makes sense over here. The MDL comments talk about things they expected and/or wanted from this show but didn't get, while the YT comments talk about this show purely for what it is. Please quote some imperfections in this show, I may know how to respond properly then.
I watched every episode, I love Chimon and Perth to DEATH and adored them as a couple in Never Let Me Go (in which…
I do agree with you to an extent that the plot went downhill after the premise. I was really intrigued by the pilot and trailer, so my expectations were high. The phasing was great during the first few episodes, but as you said, things got a whole-lot messier from then.
I admit that I wouldn't enjoy this show nearly as much if it wasn't acted by PerthChimon. Perth and Chimon are both astounding actors, but I feel like the director wasn't using their strengths enough as we've gotten closer to the end. The shower scene and the cash throwing scene were amazing in the trailer, but truly felt a tad bit less emotional in the actual show due to the rushed cutting.
I feel that the weak point in the plot is the way it was delivered, rather than what it was. Screenwriting was amazing in my opinion, but the directing could've been more clever at times.
I feel you though, my standards have been raised an immense amount as I'm soon done with watching Theory of Love. I think I'd hold Dangerous Romance as a 9.5 if it weren't for that, lol. (currently I'm debating on giving DR a 9)
I'm not sure if I hit the nail on the head, but do you think the delivery of the story was impactful in your view of the drama?
I watched every episode, I love Chimon and Perth to DEATH and adored them as a couple in Never Let Me Go (in which…
I believe that has to do with your personal taste, but since you mentioned you love PerthChimon otherwise, it would be too simple to just say this isn't for you.
I actually feel the same way to some extent! I looooove PerthChimon, but this isn't a show focusing solely on their alone-time. The only wholesome scenes I remember between them are the ones straight after they started their relationship, kinda like they're in their "honeymoon" phase. Otherwise the plot has been focusing more on the imperfections of their relationship, and because there's been a lot of mess around their family and friends, they haven't had much time for just the two together (most recent time being when Kanghan ran from home with Sailom)
As you stated, I also preferred the first episodes, especially romance-wise, I love subtle hints of affection like that as well. I get where you're coming from, to me, the single good thing about NLMG was PerthChimon and their chemistry.
The plot isn't so simple to discuss. It's mostly a matter of personal taste, but since you felt like you usually like these sort of plots, it's harder to know what went wrong with it since I felt it fit my needs, liking these sort of dramas myself. Although, for me, I enjoy nearly any type of plot as long as it's logical and has no plot holes. What makes the plot so captivating for me are the plot-twists that make sense but weren't to be expected. (just like how they're meant to be lololol)
I honestly don't have much else to say about the plot itself though, do you have any specific things you didn't like about the story? Please enlighten me so I can attempt to answer better!
I didn't think I'd come here to say anything yet, but seeing so many negative comments here missing the point of this show has led me to it.
I've mainly focused on the YouTube comments after each episode, because I feel like those are actually good discussions, over here most of the comments are criticizing aspects that they misinterpreted themselves.
First of all, the theme I see most of the negative comments refer to, CHEMISTRY
In my personal taste, I love PerthChimon's chemistry. They're both astounding actors. But what are their "faults"?
As said by many: - Not romantic enough - Feels forced - Chimon can't act in a romance, + he looks uncomfortable
Ok, there's a lot to discuss there. But for the sake of my sanity and sleep cycle, here's to put it simply:
These comments were the most frequent with either 1. People who had only watched the first few episodes 2. People who dropped the show after a few episodes or 3. People who were stuck with their conception of the show and didn't acknowledge that the start was supposed to be like that
Let me unpack this a little - They were supposed to be awkward around each other at first - They were still confused about their feelings - Sailom (Chimon) was intentionally made to look uncomfortable, especially during the bathroom scene where Kanghan (Perth) suddenly kissed him, that scene wasn't supposed to be romantic in the first place, that's what a lot of people got wrong about it
To put it shortly They were intentionally made to have an awkward dynamic at first. Even in the latest episode, being the 11th, they still have their faults. This is not a slice-of-life romance. This is a Dangerous Romance.
That's where we get to our second theme, NOT DANGEROUS ENOUGH
Socially, mentally, psychologically, and physically, seems like a very dangerous romance to me.
However, these were what some comments were debating on: - Bad guys can't aim - Kanghan's personality change
Oh my god I'm honestly losing my mind LOL
Okay, so - I can't speak for them, but I'm pretty sure if someone dodges and/or makes swift movement, your chances of hitting them are smaller, not that I'd know though, never held a gun in my hands. Also, pretty sure many shots that were fired were meant as a warning rather than actually shooting anyone, but that's just my speculation I guess. - In all honesty, I got my fair share of genuine chuckles at these comments. "Personality change", you mean getting closer to someone and treating them better now that you're their friend? Do you mean struggling with expressing worry? You mean, not everyone is deemed as just "good" or "bad"??? There's no way! I thought no one had any morals! I thought everyone had just a single personality trait! Wow, truly a shocker that people aren't built like Disney characters.
To put it shortly No matter how evil someone is, they can still mess up their aim when their target doesn't keep still. Not everyone is deemed as plainly "good" or "bad", people have different morals and different reactions to things, especially if they're in shock (*cough* *cough* Kanghan in ep 10...)
The third and last topic I will be discussing for now is similar to the first, NOT ENOUGH GAY
As I had previously stated, this isn't supposed to be a wholesome, heart-pounding, giggle-inducing show. Check the genres, tags, and trailer, and maybe even read the title out loud, if you focus hard enough, you'll be transmitted the wise information from the gods that this is a dangerous romance. If that doesn't work for you, try it again, you'll succeed, I believe in you!
These are the following complaints from the people who didn't focus on the task hard enough: - Not sexy - My heart isn't pounding - This is more of a bromance
These are the most common comments for dramas without romance as the main genre, however, for this one romance is actually a word in the title itself. I just can't seem to remember what the word before romance is.
Anywho, while I attempt to remember the name of this show, I'll touch on these topics a bit - In what scenes did they attempt to be sexy? I didn't notice! I was too busy focusing on the plot. After all, sexual content isn't one of the tags in this drama, and I don't usually hold it as a norm in romance shows. Enlighten me on what scenes should've been sexier! Oh! Oh! Was it the one where Sailom (Chimon) was crying in the shower and Kanghan (Perth) came in to comfort him? Or wait, maybe it was that bathroom scene way before they were even together, where Kanghan (Perth) was abruptly kissing Sailom (Chimon) in the lips? Those two definitely should've been way more sexualized, rather than showing off their dynamic and imperfections in a realistic manner, don't you think? - Surprisingly, as a gay man myself, mine neither! Wow, who would've thought I wouldn't swing my feet and giggle at a psychological show? Weird, huh? - Yes exactly! Me and the bros always kiss each other good night, run away from home, take a bullet for each other, and even in special circumstances sleep together! I also particularly enjoy talking about our future together in means of marrying them. That's absolutely normal! Just bromance alright? Nothing special!
To put it shortly This show doesn't attempt to be sexy, wholesome, or heart-poundingly romantic. Not every act of affection is romantic by default, not to mention they haven't even solidified their relationship fully with all the stuff happening around them. Even after getting into a relationship, you take things step by step. Not to mention that neither of them has much experience in romance so obviously their bond isn't perfect.
It took me a good while to write this, I hope it won't be in vain. If you read this far, I'm impressed an immensely thankful! I hope I could offer some sort of information with this comment. Please feel free to leave your thoughts below, I might even copy-paste this as a review after the last episode comes out.
I'm also curious to know who these invisible shooters for this series are lol. 99% of the comments here are trashing…
99% of the comments here are criticizing the show, sure, but 99% of the comments over on YouTube are praising it. I'm one of the latter, MDL comment sections tend to be overly negative compared to the ones on YouTube so I've personally focused on the positive comments since I don't wanna waste my energy on 80% of the comments that miss the point of this show. I'm sure a lot of others feel this way as well.
I haven't watched it but I wonder if people who don't like it are basing it off of something else or just genuinely…
I'm a writer, and I'd say it was a pretty solid show. I personally gave it an 8.0, which in my scoring system means that it's something I'd recommend to others, please give it a try!
The main theme it explores is communication in relationships. A lot of people here misunderstood what the title means, and thought of it as one aspect of the plot, when really it's referencing the entire runtime of this drama, not just as a literal term.
Hidden Agenda isn't anything groundbreaking, but it does depict relationships realistically. Some things may be frustrating, but nothing is actually toxic, just caused by a lack of communication between the characters.
Late reply but the director seems semi-promising! I haven't seen his earlier work as a director before, but he's…
Yeah! Not long after commenting this I actually started watching Theory of Love, and the directing is astounding from what I've seen so far. They've also got an amazing cast of actors, but the director definitely deserves a ton of praise. Can't wait for Cherry Magic!
I love TayNew so I am very excited! It looks great from the behind-the-scenes pics so far! How are we feeling…
Late reply but the director seems semi-promising! I haven't seen his earlier work as a director before, but he's a producer and an executive producer in some very astounding dramas like Star in My Mind, Not Me, The Gifted, and A Tale of Thousand Stars. I hope he's as good of a director as he is a producer!
(I've heard some praise for Theory of Love which he directed, but I haven't seen it myself so I can't say for sure if he's impressive as a director.)
No matter what role he is in, a guest role, support role or main role- he always gives his best. This man is a legend, I would love to meet him and tell him that someday. My favorite actor of all time, I love him so much!
You're really making it sound like you don't know about the symptoms of anxiety. Chi Hoon's reaction may come…
I never intended to say that Chi Hoon has an anxiety disorder, he just simply felt anxious about the fact he wasn't perceived as a doctor and was pressured to get that title back.
Anxiety isn't just anxiety attacks. The majority of people may never experience an anxiety &/or panic attack, while every single person on this earth experiences anxiety more than once in their lives. Let me remind you, that anxiety is a feeling just like happiness, disgust, sadness, etc. Even people with anxiety disorders may not face anxiety attacks that often, but rather struggle with the feeling of anxiety daily that it affects our lives.
The gun part was one I admitted not knowing enough about. I don't have much to add to it so I said it was just my speculation.
