Yes, I'm really bummed Kim Jiwon isn't in it...working with Jeon Doyeon is a once in a lifetime opportunity, and as Kim Jiwon doesn't really have a proven track record in Chungmuro unlike Kim Go Eun, an opportunity like this is super hard to come by. Anyway, I hope Kim Jiwon and Jeon Doyeon still get the opportunity to collaborate in the near future, if not in a drama, then in a movie.

I think actors with good looks and mediocre acting definitely get more opportunities than great actors who do not necessarily meet the criteria of modern day beauty standards, at least in mainstream roles. For example, Suzy and Kim Seulgi debuted around the same time, but Seulgi is stuck in character/supporting roles while Suzy is working with the top writers and actors. I absolutely do not think a beautiful person cannot act. But I do think drama makers and producers would choose drop dead gorgeous people with negligible acting skills as opposed to an average looking person with even a decent amount of acting talent.

Her agency wants her to be a legitimate actress, it seems. So instead of enrolling her in acting classes, making her do workshops, making her do a good stint in the theatre (not just musicals), making her work her way up from small roles, they will leverage her popularity to make money-hungry companies bankroll plum projects for her. The projects will obviously be designed to make her bad acting seem less egregious, so whenever anyone questions her credentials, her fans will counter, " Oh, but she was so good in XYZ" It has worked for Suzy , IU, Cha Eunwoo and Han Sohee so it'll probably work for her too.
