Review Perfect Crown
you’ve left 2 negative reviews for what reason?? 12 out of 12 episodes watched?? how when only 6 episodes were…
Three episodes are enough to judge someone’s acting. If the performance remains the same over that time, there’s no real reason to expect it to improve later. I don’t see any chemistry, and I don’t plan on wasting my time.

I’m entitled to my opinion, and my criticism is completely valid. If you can’t accept that, that’s your issue.

You’re free to like the drama, but I’m also free to express my view without holding back.

And if you don’t like it, just scroll past no one is forcing you to agree with me.

Yeah to much hate for the male lead, honestly the problem is with both of them, one is overacting and the other…
No, she doesn’t really immerse herself in her character. When you’ve watched a lot of dramas, it’s obvious that her acting isn’t very convincing. I have no issue with “brat” characters for example, Seo Ye-ji plays this type of role very naturally, it never feels forced. But with IU, it’s different: her acting feels stiff, sometimes even awkward, and her facial expressions seem quite frozen. She doesn’t convey much emotion, and her performance comes across as overly theatrical.

You found IU's acting in WLGYT artificial too?Her "artificial" acting is part of her character's persona…
I also dropped WLGYT because of her acting: she overacts in her reactions, which completely took me out of the immersion… and yet, I actually really like her as a singer. I’m still thinking about giving My Master a chance, since I’ve been told it’s her best role.

In any case, I’m sure of one thing: Perfect Crown is, for me, her worst drama.

It’s clearly topping the charts because of its looks…

There’s no real depth to it the dialogue feels empty, and everything is carried almost entirely by the visuals. Honestly, the drama feels aimed at a very young audience, and I say that quite literally. It’s cliché after cliché from beginning to end.

I’ve seen people criticising the male lead’s acting, but for me it’s actually IU who stands out in a negative way. I find her performances consistently underwhelming across her dramas. It often comes across as overacted and artificial, like she’s consciously “performing” a character rather than truly embodying one, which makes it difficult to stay engaged.

In my opinion, she relies heavily on clichés, and I’ve never really felt any chemistry between her and her male co-stars. On top of that, she’s often cast as unpleasant or unlikeable characters, which doesn’t really help change that impression.

I like IU as a singer, but personally I don’t think she’s very strong as an actress. In most of the dramas I’ve seen, she often plays rather condescending or unlikeable characters (such as in Hotel Del Luna, among others). The issue, in my opinion, is that her performances tend to feel a bit overacted and unnatural. Even her facial expressions sometimes come across as exaggerated, which makes it hard for me to fully enjoy her acting.

The rating really isn’t representative, and it’s getting tiring to see dramas being overrated just because the actors are young and attractive… while, at the same time, there are much more compelling shows out there with excellent acting and genuinely engaging storylines.

Who said that. I don't think there is anything comedic in this drama just more of a revenge, romance side plot…
It’s because there are three reviews at the top, and the last one I read left me a bit puzzled haha. so the story is good?

Maybe it’s just because we don’t want to waste our time. Both positive and negative opinions matter they help…
I agree with you. It’s just that a lot of the time, when you share a negative opinion, some people act like you’re crazy just because they liked the drama, and even get defensive over the fact that you’re going against the general opinion. That said, I do believe that if you’re going to be negative, it should at least be constructive and relevant.

Is it true that this drama leans much more toward comedy? I don’t mind some humor, but if the comedic tone dominates, that’s a bit concerning… I actually didn’t like Prisoner of Beauty for that exact reason.

Is it that difficult to understand that this story is being told from the perspective of the leads? It may align…
Maybe it’s just because we don’t want to waste our time. Both positive and negative opinions matter they help set expectations. That’s the whole point of a rating platform: to see different perspectives. This isn’t some ideal world, so people need to learn to accept all kinds of criticism.

the best thing.... to fall asleep to

Personally, I found this drama pretty underwhelming. It lacks substance and doesn’t really have anything meaningful to say. The interactions aren’t particularly engaging, which makes the whole thing feel quite monotonous. I was honestly bored most of the time, and the main couple didn’t do much for me either. On top of that, the pacing is way too slow.

I don’t know, but it genuinely felt like they were eating all the time. And about the ML everyone calls him a “green flag,” but I didn’t really see it that way. He came across as quite calculated and overly meticulous at times, especially when he’d pretend to be drunk just to get closer to her or make her approach him.

The ironic part is that the fl is trying to cure her insomnia, while the drama itself basically worked as a sleeping pill for me.

Well, I finished it... kind of, as I was using the FF a lot in the 2nd part.I like to watch FL-centric dramas,…
Exactly that’s how I felt. Even in the supposedly standout moments, the best ones were at the beginning, and after that, everything just fizzled out. The dialogue is so trivial that you could fast-forward and miss nothing. The FL is presented as strong and smart, but she often comes off as childish, almost playing house. Despite all the high stakes in the plot, she seems largely unaware of what’s happening, eventually sidelined entirely. And the comedy honestly, it was grating. Overall, it feels like the characters are just on a summer camp trip rather than in a serious story.

Very nicely written summary, although I plan to finish it (hoping for more FL's strategic brilliance, plus I'm…
Yes, I completely agree with you. Honestly, it’s so frustrating becuz the first 12 episodes were genuinely excellent the pacing was smooth, and the story just flowed effortlessly. After that, though, it started to drag, and the situations became increasingly absurd… it really lost credibility.
