Perfect summary, had the same thoughts watching this and sadly had to drop it mid way when I realized Hua schemes included SA and r*p*, and turning his lover into sth against his consent and will, It was crossing the limit for me. "I did appreciate a lot was how his pairing with Hua Yong went against typical conventions. The “top” was the scheming feminine force, and the bottom was the manly man. It was surprisingly well written and delivered." the only part I kinda disagree with. It did not go manly and fem, it took manly and tried to force fem out of it as far as I've seen, maybe I hated the alpha going omega trope so much, as I don't like the concept. I hated the fact that Hua was not held accountable at all? The lies were getting too much I stopped at ep9-10 and skipped to last ep to see how it all went, and was even more disappointed by the second couple and Hua development. It was a nightmare watching what is written as a sharp mind character be so manipulated and pushed around. "80% of business related scenes were useless and had no impact on the overall story." THANK YOU! the business talk was such a filler.
I didnt know it was the remake of my fav black devil and white prince. As i was watching i found it was the same…
I love the historical chinese theme way better and I loved the actors of this remake (better acting but who knows I haven't seen og in a while), they had amazing chemistry (maybe I am biased too lol) I also like how even though they stick to the og (like u, I didn't know it was remake till halfway through the movie) they made it work so well in the historical setting, the only thing og did better for me was the pace of events, this remake felt more chaotic
seen the first ep and ended it with one question in mind: why is this +18???? that scene in ep1 was as useless and stupid as it can get can someone pls tell me if there are multiple scenes of that kind?
