Have rooted for CFY.. He's truly ONE to watch out for.
Hope he stays focused.. Being the son of illustrious parents can't be easy. Chen Kaige was / is one of my fave Chinese directors.
His mom is a famous actress also.
P.S. I went and watched EverNight afterwards.. He was JUST 18... I LOVED the drama. My intro to Wuxia - Xanxia elements...it was not a straightforward Drama in the genre.. Had unusual elements but that is for another day.

This was precisely entertaining BECAUSE it was playing with 2 HIGH functioning career focused people with dreadful 'relationship skills and notions'
Both of them have absolutely no idea of WHAT a real relationship is all about .. nor do they recognise what it is to 'fall in love', they stumbled along in all kinds of misdirected yearnings falling flat on their face.
This drama is about imperfect individuals who grow up with their relationships. I repeat, the characters are imperfect…
Excellent observation about audience wanting to watch their OWN version of what a drama should have been rather than what was made by the drama writer and team and attempt to understand that.

I was not questioning your taste or why you disliked OFL the drama .. I was curious about why the sharp difference between OFL the Drama which you rated a 5.5, vis a vis the OFL : Special which you rated a 9.0
I did check out your review .. it didn't mention the extension Special Episode or your rating of it.
