I went HOARSE trying to defend L&P to those who couldn't get into the show because they were trying to 'follow' THE ROMANCE.
IT WONT WORK for them UNLESS they GET the "computerese" AND the entire BAG of IT and Programming Shindig!!!
It's ONE of a kind drama where the flesh the bones the blood vessels the nerves are ALL essential to its structure .. You cant JUST pick the 'love line' and ignore the rest .. the DRAMA will fail for you and you'll be left with "sand in the mouth' feel ..
I say this because comment after comment I heard viewers 'tune out' when they couldn't get the 'intense dramatic tension' that kept building up in waves .. smaller ones at first and then larger and then the 'tsunami' ...
There wasn't ONE excess scene or dialogue in this DRAMA that did not reveal something essential to the story - to the tension building - to the character building
IMO one of the reasons this DRAMA hasn't hit a 9/10 or higher is BECAUSE they didn't get the ambience of the COMPUTER - IT college and industry world.
Those of us in the know slurped it all up with RELISH because we recognised it and thus understood the leitmotif and the foundation on which the relationships were being forged.
P.S. It's his Bday today .. so another reason I swung by.
For me the later parts were very slow because majority of romantic tension had been settled a long time before…
I dropped the show .. you know how you feel when you eat too many sweets - you run to something HOT and SPICY to bring the sensation back or DRINK a LOT of chilled water to wash the sticky sweetness off your tongue and throat ;-p
Are they not going to tell us whatever happened with Meng and Lin? Or was it in the book but left out of the drama?

If you were hooked to WXY and want to have a rollicking time I'd recommend you go check out "Delicacies Destiny" its a lovely gem of a rom-com; a tart Lemon Tart .. slurpy lemony gelato with a wink ;-p

Please check out Leo Wu in "Upcoming Summer" It's a movie so won't take much time to wrap in one sitting.
I am not sure if you watched LLTG (Love Like the Galaxy) - he is brilliant in it. It's a slow burn (in the first half especially) .. but watch him GROW as his arc bends through the second half. It is one of the most intelligent look at a FL-ML dynamic that moves though stages that aren't the regular 'romance norm'.
He is one of the BEST actors in CDrama IMO.
AaSoL showcases his "charm and appeal" with hyper-reality .. It's a FULL ON Wu Lei (his other name) LOVE-FEST for female viewers LOL
It may not be 'visible' to male eyes (apologies if your name is not of the commonly found gender) is all I can say ;-p

Who said they committed incest - they were NOT related by blood... Rong Le was deceived!!! Rong Qi always knew she was not his sister.. He fell in love with her before she lost her memory and she was also deeply in love with him. They had planned to marry - until evil queen came. That's why she took so long to get over the heartbreak when she finally remembered.
When Wuyou didn't try to take her back. He respected her old love.

My comments after finishing the show.
From Ep 8 started to plateau and from Ep 9 I started FFWD on speed.. Lost all patience with the story and script!!!
The script lost its way and I felt so bad for the waste of a great actress.
She reminds me of this other KDrama Actress (in looks and talent) Lee Ji Ah.
Look forward to seeing her in other more worthwhile drama.
