Atmospheric but Ultimately Disappointing

I finished watching this drama more out of a desire to see what it could have been rather than what it actually delivered. While the story started with a lot of potential, and the lead pairing initially seemed promising, it unfortunately lost its way.

The main issue lies in the character writing, particularly for Shin Ye-eun’s character, Hari. Her behavior as a nurse came across as frustratingly unprofessional and absurd, completely ruining the dynamic for me. On the other hand, Lee Jae-wook turned in a solid performance as Dr. Do, capturing the exact right mix of clumsiness and discomfort as he tried to adapt to island life. The secondary characters were decent enough, but the narrative made a turn for the worse with the love triangle. Introducing Hong Min-gi as Dr. Chiyeon felt like a waste of a genuinely talented actor, and the late addition of a fourth wheel (the male lead's ex) completely killed my enthusiasm to keep watching.

Up until around episode six, the drama held together well enough. From episode seven onwards, however, the plot completely stalled. The conflicts felt repetitive, the storyline barely moved forward, and I only kept watching because I hate leaving shows unfinished.

That said, the drama isn't without its merits. The visuals are stunning, and the peaceful island atmosphere is easily one of its strongest elements. Above all, the standout feature of the entire series is its soundtrack, which hits every emotional mark even when the script fails to.

Verdict: Great scenery and a fantastic OST can't quite save a repetitive plot and frustrating character choices. A disappointing misfire after a promising start.
