Still 2gether picked up the scattered pieces of that show as best as it could. I trust P'Aof cause of it, even if he did direct the product-placement bottle reunion kiss that haunts my dreams.
If Tian and Phupha kiss through a can of Mix snacks, I'm giving up. :'D
Well, this was the most depressing episode of all time. Especially cause I kept starting and stopping waiting…
also I keep thinking about how they really took an L with that beard. Tried to make it seem like Phu was unkempt and then he pops up with this super clean line, fake looking stubble oml. Like Earth is hot no matter what but they were really wilding with that one.
Well, this was the most depressing episode of all time. Especially cause I kept starting and stopping waiting for English subs. I watched the first part at around 10:30 am and only just now finished at about 1:30 - so it was a 90 minute episode drawn out to like 3 hours. Yikes.
My prediction going in was that it was going to be bittersweetly heartwarming. I was very, very wrong.
No kiss on the cliff has crushed my soul, but Mix did say there was a kiss in an interview. A few possibilities moving forward are: a kiss in the final episode (either just before Tian leaves or maybe flashing forward to him returning), Mix was actually lying, or all the footage was so awkward they cut out the kiss entirely.
I loved this episode, but I'm starting to feel some of the frustration toward Phu that others were feeling last week. I'm just so glad he's finally drilled it in Tian's head to stop feeling guilty and to make decisions for himself (even if he is basically forcing him to leave ~mega sigh~).
I realized that I felt too defensive about this drama cause I love it too much, so instead of arguing with unreasonable…
Can I add something to your list? 6. The theme song. This theme song is the most beautiful I've heard in a BL, and maybe even any show period. The khlui gets me every. single. time. The song makes me feel SO many feelings: sadness and joy and wanderlust and longing and all sorts of things all rolled into one, just like the show does. It really enhances it for me, and I never ever skip the intro. The OST in general is amazing, especially the song played during karaoke, but the THEME. So good.
Could someone translate this thread into English? I feel like it's really meaningful even through Google translate, but I'm missing some of the meaning. This just makes me love Earth, Mix, and P'Aof even more.
But if everyone,, including the rangers, thought Tian really DID kill Torfun, wouldn't they arrest him? I kept…
I hadn't thought about this. Hmm...
I think all the rangers know Torfun was hit by a car. Maybe they assume that if Tian was the driver and was able to make it through the proper channels to volunteer (which I assume includes a background check) that he's already been apprehended/the situation is taken care of legally?
I sort of think they weren't as angry as Phupha but more hurt. In ep 1 at Torfun's funeral, when Phupha was upset, Nam said something along the lines of "no one wants something like this to happen" re: the crash. So I got the feeling that they have the mindset that the crash was an accident, rather than seeing Tian as a murderer, and they were more upset about him lying? If that makes any sense.
I think the episode was objectively bad, because it abandoned the character-driven nature of the story in favor…
We can agree to disagree on this episode (:
I loved it a lot, so I suppose I'm overdefensive about it, but I personally was glad to have some action.
Do we know Tian went to the waterfall in the morning? Khama said he had last scene Longtae in the afternoon - Longtae could have gone home around 4-5 and it might be dark by the time he got back. There's also a chance they had a difficult shooting day, were on a time crunch, and had to make do with it being dark.
In terms of no one asking further questions, death can make people balk. It's something people don't want to talk about. The villagers were never very talkative, and I wouldn't expect them to be now. Tian didn't offer any further explanation than "I was responsible" and Phupha jumped to conclusions.
And I've said it a billion times in this comment section LOL, but sometimes people do weird things and make stupid decisions. This episode felt like that on parade, and it worked really well for me, but I understand it didn't work for you!
Phupha is a person. He was in shock, thinking that Tian had killed Torfun and lied to him about it. Sometimes…
Uh... this character is a human being. That's what I meant.
And Phupha acts however they want him to act. The character Phupha acts the way that the writers write him, and the way he acted in this episode, in my opinion, was in a human way.
Phupha is usually calm and collected. Thinks things through, acts in a rational way. But sometimes he doesn't. That's usually when people he loves are in danger. For example, vowing he'd never forgive the person who killed Torfun in the first episode - and Nam having to talk him down from that anger. Another case is when Tian passed out during the kite scene - all of Phupha's training went out the window and all he did was hold Tian and call for Nam. Pretty ineffectual. You could argue that it's out of character since he's supposed to be the masterful chief, or you could boil it down to emotion.
And in this case, he's upset with Tian, so he acts irrationally. I think it's interesting and it helps show the less good parts of Phupha.
Respectfully disagree. My friend pointed out to me that Phupha has little to no experience with love. He is an…
If I was someone with trust issues and I found out that the guy I had let into my world had been lying to me, may or may not be the killer of my friend (who I vowed to never forgive), had been basing decisions on the diary of said friend, and also had a heart transplant he didn't tell me about, I probably would react with anger too. It wouldn't be good of me to so, but in the moment I bet I'd think I was justified.
I think the episode was objectively bad, because it abandoned the character-driven nature of the story in favor…
There have been timing jumps where it suddenly becomes dark, bad audio, Phupha having too much time on his hands, etc. etc. since the start of this show. That's nothing new, and if that's your criteria then you must dislike the whole show.
There is nothing "objectively" bad about this episode. I loved it, and others did too.
Sometimes behavior is illogical and out-of-character. Sometimes when things go bad and people feel betrayed, they don't act like themselves. I have personal experience with this. Honestly, this episode felt extremely genuine to me. It felt like they weren't afraid to show the ugly side of the characters we've grown to love, including Phupha. And I commend them for it.
And what is Phupha’s job anyhow? I thought he was a glorified tree herder but then in this ep he is stalking…
He is a forest ranger. Forest rangers stop smugglers and poachers. His job is to protect the forest as well as the villagers from criminals. It's a real job, and from what I've read it's dangerous.
I kind of got the feeling that Phupha doesn't even like Tian that much after episode 8.It's not about Phupha turning…
Respectfully disagree. My friend pointed out to me that Phupha has little to no experience with love. He is an extremely guarded person, and it doesn't seem like he's trusted much of anyone before Tian (other than Torfun, who I think he viewed as a sister). And it's clear that he has let Tian into his heart and allowed his walls to come down for him.
But now he has been dealt this absolute bombshell. Tian not only knows Torfun, but also has her heart and says that he is responsible for her death. Phupha doesn't know what that means, nor does Tian correct his assumptions about it.
Phupha must have been questioning so many things, including Tian's motivation for getting close to him. So he quickly put the walls back up. But, in my opinion at least, you can see the pain underneath the surface even through his anger. He feels deeply betrayed by someone he was letting into his life. I'm guessing Phupha couldn't stop picturing Tian behind the wheel of the car that hit Torfun. I can't imagine the pain that would come along with that, and I don't know how I'd react.
Do I think Phupha was in the right with what he did this episode? Absolutely not. But I don't think it means he doesn't like Tian or that it kills the love story. They've both been hiding things from each other. And the good news is that nothing has even happened between them yet, so they can get things out in the open before they get together.
LOL You guyss know that every drama has conflicts on the last 3 episodes cause that's how creating an arc works…
Yes, this. There has to be some sort of conflict or else it's just... nothing. And I don't feel like this conflict is forced or coming out of left field. They've been building up to this point for many episodes and nothing too surprising is happening. I've seen more than enough shows with random cheating plots or other chaotic twists that this all feels very natural, even if it is dramatic.
If Tian and Phupha kiss through a can of Mix snacks, I'm giving up. :'D
at this point it feels like they are being held hostage by GMMTV.
please GMMTV... set them free.... let them kiss before tian's heart gives out again
Maybe Earth has trouble growing full stubble and in the time constraints they couldn't do it.
My prediction going in was that it was going to be bittersweetly heartwarming. I was very, very wrong.

My heart hurts so bad.
