Rewatched this drama after two years. After watching many excellent series past and present, I will still proudly say that this is still the best and definitely my most favorite Asian drama. The first few eps need complete focus to get into the story, but once immersed, every aspect of the production is grand and exquisite. This is Asian series at its finest!
I wanted to try this one, but seeing the name of the FL is making me think if I will get annoyed rather than entertained. The reason why I gave Love is Deep a 2/10 is her unemotional, rather robotic acting. Lets see in the first ep.
This drama is seriously toxic until the end! I have been whining midway through this drama about the horrible writing and the senseless character developments. And true enough, it lasts till the end, it seems they just make a very simple story last 120 eps, and within those eps are the push buttons for certain characters to be the antagonist for a certain period, then depress that button again, so that character turns normal again.
Finished ep 14 and this is good, actually I am liking it a lot. The pacing is quite fast. The plot is getting meatier but there is still some light feel to it, Hope it remains till the end. The characters are also flawed, actually realistic and quite annoying at times, and that is great. I think there should also be a "family" tag here.
After ep 3, the realness of the story and the characters is excellently done. What Teh is experiencing is not out of the blue just to add conflict, The set up from the first ep. their growing up, even their actions and behaviors are leading up to something. The story is well-paced and the dialogues are excellent, and inter-connected. Hoping for the best, but whatever the story decides to give in the end, I am enjoying watching their journey.
I almost did not start this one. But I am glad I did, Got curious because I saw Move to Heaven, and Tang Jun Sang is so good there. Now, he has a different character, and this young man indeed knows how to act well.
Anyway, I am loving the pacing of the story, the building friendship and family story as well as countryside life. I suddenly recalled another badminton series which I love, the Thai series Side by Side, of course the story is different.
fter ep 98, I am so confused how the writer is so focused on one aspect and disregards or forgets the overall flow of the series. For the sake of the length of the drama, everything has to be dragged more. Nobody even calls the police re the kidnapping? They know the perpetrator, but this moment has to be a focus on another thing, let that matter be forgotten or moved for next week perhaps.
Anyway, 22 eps to go, I am still watching sans the expectations and at 2x speed. I just want to know how this will end. But to be fair, ep 97 got its highest rating so far at 7.4% placing it 5th nationwide. We'll see if it will match or surpass its predecessor, My Wonderful Life's 8.2% final ep rating. Well, not to compare, but it is still far from the ratings of another daily drama which airs before this in another channel, Miss Montecristo, which I also watch.
Well, after 4 eps, I can say this is very well-done. The pacing is fast, the cinematography and camera angles are excellent. The animosity between the leads is cute, they have an annoying side which give spice to their characters. Hope the story doesn't drag in the middle,
I am glad I started this, it's really important to trust own judgment.
I am really loving this. Sometimes, the comedy is absurd, but it has an entertaining feel and the actors are giving some pretty excellent acting to a nice and refreshing story!
Finished the series. And the ending was literally uneventful. After everything, the resolution is so convenient and easy. This series started strong, but towards the end, it turns out there is really nothing extra special about the series, nothing out of the ordinary. Li Jun Jie didn't even have a special scene in the end with a very important person in his life (no spoiler). It is obvious that the actors didn't have the chance to shoot scenes together. And the other regular actors are nowhere to be found in the end.
On a positive note, the action scenes are excellently done and the two leads have a lot of chemistry. But overall, the series is a letdown towards the end.
It is an ok series overall, somewhere in the middle for me. Sins, redemption, watching this needs full attention to be able to integrate scenes from previous eps and arrange the puzzle pieces and avoid confusion. But the complete puzzle will be given the viewers in the last ep anyway, plus the final resolution,
Anyway, the last ep is great and \well executed. Though I don't feel much about Ba Reum, the actor did a pretty good job. But I am most impressed with the Ko Moo Chi actor, who is tough but whose emotional outbursts esp in earlier eps are superb.
After ep 88, the restaurant employees must be very confused right now on the nonsense changes in the management, as if the owners are just playing around. Ridiculous plot, going round and round and round. Then add in the Diner subplot, then the brewing love affair. There is nothing more insane than this series.
But I have started this, so I will finish the remaining 1/3 of the eps.
Just finished ep 6 and the slow burn of Ba Woo and Hwa In romance is really a joy to watch. Their chemistry is there and together with the adorable Cha Dol (hope he has more scenes), they form an unlikely but strong family. They grew up in opposite circumstances, so there are many differences. But they both have the soft hearts, so looking forward to what is in store in future eps.
I seem to like this series a bit. But after ep 14, I still cannot identify the FL as a rural lady who is naive in so many things, including mobile phones. That premise is contrary to her sophisticated demeanor and make up. Her character growth in the city is really no different from when she came from the province.
Aside from the great story, directing, and acting, this series gives a distinct cinematic experience that magnetizes viewers. It seems I have watched a very long movie or a miniseries quite different from the others. Plus the emotional punches meticulously integrated, this is beautifully done!
After ep 30, things are getting tricky. The plot is very unpredictable, viewers are kept guessing on the motives and people out of radar. The plot flows naturally, and hope it will remain that way till the end.
One thing I don't like is Li Jun Jie always under duress, it is tiring. And I am having a different feel on Amanda. Hope I am wrong!
Anyway, Johnny Huang is excellent playing tough roles. For Xiao Zhan, we'll see how he fares in a military series. And this is the first time to see Zhong Chuxi.
I have endured this total waste of time series!

Looking forward to ep 5!

On the plus side, she is really beautiful.
This is indeed well-written and acted. The cast is endearing and smart. Now waiting for the subbed ep 25.
