Just finished the finale. I thought I will not love the ending because I read the comments before watching, but I actually love it. All characters have their proper ending. Looking back, this has been an enjoyable journey for me. It is not perfect (no series is perfect), but I still give this a 10/10. It is always proper to live as oneself, not on a borrowed body! Two thumbs up!
I am actually loving this more than No Matter What. The kids are so cute giving their acting best. And the story is unpredictable. And I love the rural setting, refreshing to see that. Hope it continues well.
I set a low expectation because it is from GMMTV but after ep 3, I am so into this series. The mood is so refreshing, the location is so nice, coupled with that soothing music, I want to visit that place. The plot is light at this point but the chemistry between the leads is so strong! Waiting for ep 4.
If I were to choose, my favorite characters here are grandpa Yoon Gang Seok (he is really good in his portrayal with his reactions and facial expressions) and the little girl Byeo Ri (she also delivers excellent acting).
Story wise, much can be hoped because of a number of ridiculous scenes, but I still continue, so off to ep 91 next week.
After ep 28, perhaps this is one of a few dramas where I don't like any of the characters. Either they are so pathetic or overbearing, (even those somewhere in between are still not likeable). And they have little or no character growth for 28 eps. The way the story is dragged, I am just watching to see how the plot ends for these characters.
This is actually very good. The 10 episodes seem short, but it enough to tell the story without adding fillers. There are few actors, few lines, but the mood can be felt. I love this series.
The first ep is usually a make or break ep for me. I tried the first ep and liked it, now after 5 eps, I am so engrossed and wanting to have more. The story has a nice pacing and the two leads interact so well, the chemistry between them is so strong! Both of them are smart.
Definitely worth watching. Hope it continues well.
Just finished the series, and this is a hidden gem last year. The story is well-written and the flow is indeed suspenseful. The acting is topnotch, there are villains yes but they are not tropeish annoying. One thing that gives me that last song syndrome is the theme song, it's in English and I love it!
Others may not like this genre, but just like "Never Say Never" from 2019, this is also worth binge-watching!
Just finished ep 1, and wow I already love it. There is something about the two leads that click, I can feel the chemistry, unlike in other current rom-coms that I can barely finish. I am glad I tried the first ep,, now am gonna watch the next 3 subbed eps!
After 4 eps, I am expecting cheating and infidelity, but I hope the story doesn't go the way I think it is going, especially the subplot of the lawyer. (even if he is the top lead, better not rationalize what he did, his character is so unlikable). Actually, I am not liking anyone of them, but I am staying to see how the story goes, and see how the writer (a female whose past works I have not recalled) will weave the story together.
ep 26 has one of the best battle scenes I have seen in recent series. I thought 68 eps would be too long, but I breezed through 26 eps and each ep seem so short that I keep clamoring for more. This is an outstanding series from the acting to the various aspects of film-making!
The ending ep felt too rushed, every mysteries the writer tried so hard to hide in the past eps come to light (which made the past eps confusing) in one big ep. Some may like that, but personally, I felt the ep just went by too fast for the sake of putting in the puzzle pieces together, leaving the emotions to the viewers' side. It felt bland.
Have you tried the 2019 version? I really like that one. I'm currently on ep 2 of this version, and already skipped…
I checked my list and apparently I have watched the 2019 version and gave an 8 rating. I just can't recall it, I guess I will scan bits of it to refresh my memory. And like you, I skip and fast forward so many scenes in this 2021 version.
Just finished ep 14, and gosh this is going too slow! I think the storyline is being stretched to accommodate 38 eps. I can't count the number of times full songs are being played to accompany one scene.
Bai Li's pathetic character is too over the top and it is becoming uncomfortable. I find the FL sweet and innocent at first, but I can't explain it, but I'm slowly falling out of love with her, maybe because the Luo Zhi I have in mind is different (i really love With You and My Huckleberry Friends).
The synopsis practically told the whole story! But the story seems engaging, and I love the actors plus the director and the screenwriter, so we'll see how the first few episodes turn out.
I really love the ending. My rating here is on a roller coaster because there are portions that I don't like. But after this season's end, and looking back overall, i finally rated this a 10/10. Looking forward to season 2.
After ep 12, why do I have that feeling that the FL is exerting too much effort to be cute, instead, I am feeling annoyed at her actions to win over the ML. And that last scene in ep 12 has such a strong impact in the Chinese version, it pierces the heart. But in this version, nothing special, just an ordinary short scene., just like each ep is disconnected from the other eps.
Story wise, much can be hoped because of a number of ridiculous scenes, but I still continue, so off to ep 91 next week.
The 10 episodes are available online.
Definitely worth watching. Hope it continues well.

Anyway, it has ended, and it is just OK.

Anyway, we'll see in succeeding eps.
Anyway, hoping the last half will be better.
