On Don't Dare to Dream Apr 3, 2019
I watched this after watching Marriage, Not Dating. I did not like that one but I like this better. The story is cohesive, the camera angles are great. The story tries to give new life to characters we often see. It succeeds partially. I particularly love the two moms but I don't like how the female lead Na RI is characterized and how they still make that usual perfect second male lead. I also like the fact that there is no generic villain. Anyway the cast is superb in their acting. As much as I hate the character of Na Ri, the acting of Gong Hyo Jin make it somewhat bearable for me. And Jo Jung Suk is an excellent actor!

This drama is a bit over-rated. Yes, it's cute and funny but the story is a mess. The female lead seems to can't live without a man beside her. The male lead is a clean-freak weakling. The cast seem to be 5-year olds who can't resolve the shallowest conflicts the show tried so hard to include. when Jang Mi ran away to the beach with Yeo Reum, the weakling Ki Tae can't even drive away Se Ah out of the car, because the beach scenes needs all the cast present. The series is dragged for too long without much story, just the merry-go-round of the cast. It's an ok drama, not excellent!

I didn't realize I have enjoyed this drama until I found out I have binge-watched it for two days. I really enjoyed it that I cannot count how many times I laughed so hard during those funny moments. The two main leads have that oozing chemistry, it's a treat watching them together. There are some melodramatic scenes but because the pacing of the series is incredibly fast, I enjoyed those scenes too. Well-done the actors, writers and director.

Maybe when people watched this in 2015, they found this drama interesting. But after watching it now, it failed to amaze me. I simply like it less than other current similar Chinese dramas which are excellent. Hua Qian Gu is annoyingly stupid and stubborn. Her pure heart is overshadowed by the dumbness of the character. And I don't like how the show depicts its women characters (well, even men) as weak who are crazed by love. Bai Zi Hua is plain boring, no depth. I just can't find the chemistry working for the two main leads. Dong Fan & Sha Qian Mo are better characters in my opinion.

Something is lacking, I cannot force myself to empathize with the characters. The creators seem to have brainstormed the story flow, then created the dialogues to forward the plot without much regard to character development, which made most of them one-dimensional. They focused more on giving those dramatic monologues before a character dies, and every other character must stop acting during those big scenes and watch the dramatic moments. Sigh. But because of how the story pans out, there is not enough emotional attachment for viewers to share those love, grief, joy with the characters.

Children may love these shallow sort of straight narratives with the use of CGI, though that part needs much improvement as well. Anyway, overall, it's not that bad, just mediocre and full of cliches. You should not ask the why's or how's or you will be frustrated.

Wow, another series I failed to watch then and too glad was able to watch now! I cannot say anything but superb, from the acting, to the story, and how the plot beautifully intertwined to make a great whole drama! You will not love all the characters but you will love how the actors portrayed each role so genuinely!

The series has potential. The male Love (I always know him as Boo) is as usual excellent in portraying the character. But the female Love needs more acting workshops. She acts so robotic. She can't add nuances to her character that her scenes seem too rehearsed.

If I could rate this higher than 10, I am willing to give it. Clearly one of the best which I failed to watch before. The plots and subplots are all intertwined and nothing was left unresolved in the end. The acting was excellent, Lee Jong Suk (he cries effortlessly) and Lee Bo Young (her nuances help her portray her character so well) are so good that I hope for another sort of May-Dec series between the two. Bravo for this series!

I thought I would enjoy this drama but no matter how I try, this is not at par with the Chinese dramas I have rated. The first episode is really huge, those action scenes are excellent. But the longer I watch, it gets too boring. Most oi the scenes are really dumb. For all its worth, it's not that bad, but it's not that good too. Mediocre.

There are more actors deserving to be idolized. He is dangerous for holding that knife and threatening a woman, never apologizing for his wicked act for a while, and only admitting it when news about it broke out. Cancelled!

i never thought this drama will leave a strong mark on me. It actually had me crying a lot. So beautifully done. The character development is focused that we tend to empathize with them and join their journeys! The episode 5 with the bursary students, to that heartbreaking episode 25, and many other worthwhile scenes. I love this series so much than the previous one (With You).

The drama is ok, there are boring parts, but the acting is good. I just don't like the fact that the second male lead always loses in the end when in fact, he deserves more to receive the love of the female lead. They say first love never dies, but ten years without any communication, he was even able to go to the US, but he didn't even retry to contact her, even once? And it was resolved so easily, in one scene, the female lead initiating the kiss, etc? I understand his selflessness but she suffered for that. I find it forced and ruched to pave the way for the happy ending for the leads. It may just be me, but I find the ending lacking. There should be more explanation for that lost10 years before the resolution!

This is actually a very good rom com series. I Iove the facial expressions and nuances of two main leads Si Tu Feng and Chen QIng Qing, they can deliver the proper emotions in their scenes. I want to see them again in a series. The script and dialogues are succinct, not overextending the scenes. There are cliches but it's ok, I actually binge watched this because it is addictive!

I really give two thumbs up to this drama! Coming of age series that delve deeper into family issues and how each character face and solve their problems. So satisfying. The romance is there but I am happy that it was not made the focus. The friendship and bond is very strong, these values plus the emotional appeal make me love Chinese dramas.

I thought I would not like this series. The first few episodes are really annoying for me because of the lead actress. But she's such a lovable lady later and she and Bai Yu go very well together. And of course Bai Yu has depth in acting whatever role is given him, talented! So now, am hooked. What I just don't like from most Chinese series is their opening credits which include scenes in future episodes which somehow give some sort of spoilers!

I started watching this drama after finishing and loving another Chinese drama "Suddenly This Summer". But after 4 episodes, I find the scenes too cliche and the characters rather annoying because of extreme personalities. I will continue some more episodes and hope the story gets better.

I've seen Bau Yu in other series and he is a very good actor with depth in his acting. He, together with Deng Lun has the great speaking voices, distinct and well modulated. But I just saw the female lead Bu Guan Jin in this series and I must say, she is really good, her realistic acting is so effective. And the series as a whole is great!

Very good series. It accurately showed that though suicide seems an easy way out, the people left behind are those who suffer the most - unanswered questions, accusations, guilt, grief, family torn to pieces. Nicely written story and the actors are excellent.

well compared with the overacting of Mook in U-Prince, she is so good in this series. And Lee gives some good acting as well. Their partnership is great. The series as whole is well-developed. Nice acting and music too.

For me this is the worst of the U-prince series. the acting of the leads esp the female lead is so annoying. She overacts her scenes. The series treats a woman as a commodity to the fullest.
