I love Machida keita. He excels in portraying straightforward characters as in Cherry magic and AiB, but here I feel like he is a miscast.
I mean he is good at portraying the gentleman ballroom dancer , but I feel like Sugiki character needed subtlety and I can't detect any tension or subtlety in Keita's performance . It also doesn't help that directing choices and script felt a little weaker in certain parts .
But even with these minor issues , this movie is really good . It's been a longtime a quality queer movie has released .
And damn , Ryoma is excellent in this. Its my first time watching Ryoma his acting is soo good .
From the getgo this movie is about the main characters relationship and the dance serves as backdrop to explore the characters. Ofcourse it could have benefitted more from being a series format. But how much more "sexual tension or explicit scenes" a movie needs to satisfy the people ? I dont understand the demand of more romance or more explictness . This movie is elegant in that aspect.
The cinematography is excellent and overall a good movie .

For this series though, I criticize it because other than few faults in the direction and the acting of the mc ( imo obviously) , its an otherwise decent drama.

I don't know about "bl actors " but some of the good or decent acting i found in bl dramas
Benjamin - the only one Ian - Gaya sa pelikula Johnny and Timmy - Addicted Sam lin, Yang yu teng , Ray chang - we best love Fandy fan - history . Most of the Taiwan actors are decent but the directing sucks . Both actors of word of honour are brilliant. Chris chiu - unknown Gao tai yu - A round trip to love , Max in Together with me series was decent

It's high time BL producers realise the importance of casting someone who is actually good at acting . Most of the recent JBLs lack good acting and Taiwan Bls lack good directing. The last time, a drama had both was ' we best love ' but it suffered having a bad script.
