I agree with you! The situation with Jia Sicheng was too vague, his change in character too sudden. Plus why did he hate Qin Shen so much? I wish they had extended this drama to 30 episodes and given us more depth of this situation and ofcourse more cute fluffy QS YQ scenarios. A wedding scene and kids in the future would be the cherry on the cake :)..

Hi! So this is my understanding of the show and what I remember..
Yuan Qian did not meet the grandmother. They cancelled their visit to help Jia Sicheng’s group (ep 23). Also in episode 24 they go to visit his hometown but she is nervous about meeting his grandmom and promises to meet her next time as they have a lot of sight-seeing to do.
Qin Shen does text Yuan Quan that he has to go to his hometown as some family matter has come up (ep21). He video calls her from his grans place and then goes AWOL. Thats why YQ gets upset as she cannot get in touch with him.
They do not explain abt Ling Wei, Jia Sicheng and Qin Shen. But my understanding is that LW uses people to try and get close to Qin Shen (she confessed herself in ep5). So she must have used Jia Sicheng who was Qin Shens best friend to get close to QS and thus hurt Sicheng who liked her. Which also explains why QS keeps his distance from LW, is rude to her, ignores her and does not like her trying to use Yuan Qian as well.
I suddenly remembered the time when she asked the ML why is the FL better than her.ML calmly answered " it doesn't…
Me too! Also the time when LW low-key blamed FL for not attending the art school party and thus her getting drunk; the way the ML stands in front of FL and puts LW in her place saying you went and drank thats your problem not FL’s. I just love how protective he is of the FL!
Ling Wei creeps me out! She just cannot take no for an answer. The ML has ignored her, been rude to her, accused her of using FL for her manipulations, does not even acknowledge her. Yet she persists! Even after knowing they are together she hopes that ML sees that FL is not good enough for him and they will break up. She takes their fighting as an opportunity to butt in and try to get ML’s attention again. And she did become aggressive with the FL and practically pushed her in the pit and then has the audacity to say ‘Qin Shen I didn’t’. What a delusional woman! She really needs treatment! I got irritated that the FL still wanted to be nice to LW. Just cut off all ties with her, she is bad news all the way.. ML was right from the beginning about her and hence kept his distance..
Ikr, this drama is so fresh and unique among chinese contemporer dramas. I originally prefer chinese costume/wuxia…
Oh yes! I end up repeating episodes often as it makes me smile! I cannot wait for the rest of the episodes.. I am confirmed fan of Song Yiren and Aaron Deng.. Happy watching!
Loving this show! The chemistry is great, entire cast acting is wonderful with no awkwardness whatsoever. The FL is adorable and cute. I am so happy she is not the typical ditz as portrayed in many chinese dramas. She is ambitious, strong-headed, kind and intelligent! So fresh! The ML is a total eye-candy. He is playing his role really well and I love how he is so protective of only the FL. Plus he is not the stereotypical rich fed with a golden spoon ML. He may be well off but he refuses help from his family and works hard to support his dreams, education and daily needs. The background of sculpting and the struggle with lesser known arts makes this show shine. Must watch!
