Yes, this episode gets me all teary eyed too.. Impressed by the raw grief portrayed by Dilraba and the emotions shown by the young actor playing A'Dou in this episode.. In one of the interviews DD mentions that one particular scene where she pleads with A'Dou was not in the script and that both of them did an improv; which is very impressive especially from such a young actor (A'Dou)

Definitely worth a watch! I shied away from historical dramas too! But I am soo soo glad I watched this one! A gripping storyline, strong characters and one of the best lead couple I have come across! Even though its a historical drama the portrayal of the FL is very forward thinking!

First of all there is nothing wrong with a BL couple. If the love in a BL series is shown well then it will be beautiful no matter what.. But you saying BL in reference to AS and LC's love story is a bit of a disservice to the makers who have made sure that there is no needless misunderstanding of hidden female identity. The ML knows from the 5th episode itself and starts falling for the FL. Secondly I feel the 'resulted in nothing' in my opinion is quite absurd because the exact opposite happened! What we got was a beautiful love story which lasted the entire 49 episodes! No annoying love triangle, no stupid misunderstandings, no dumb ditzy scared FL. What we got was a love story of two strong personalities and it was a treat to watch.

Honestly I am more convinced in AS and LC's love than the second leads. Where for 90% of the drama the SFL liked Wei Shu Yu and only changes her affections because HD saves her from marrying She'er and then she quickly hops into being in love with him..
That is the beauty of this series and GeSun. A strong rarely seen before female lead who doesn't stick to the same old tropes (like the rabbit and the wolf - so done and dusted!).
Another thing - there is no kiss scene because the male lead is too young and his no-kiss clause should be respected. And I find it admirable that the director did not push him towards a kiss scene just to prove the point that they have a romance and are in love. Like the recent trend of having numerous kiss and bed scenes will strengthen a weak story line as seen so many dramas today.
I really hope this forces other series makers to focus on strong story lines and strong characters and not resort to senseless oft repeated tropes.

I just wanted to add another thing - the makers have tried to stick closely to the mahua and according to that LC is quite young. So naturally she will be awkward and stiff and wont know how to profess her love since its the first time she is feeling all these emotions. Also she is not your typical FL - she has been trained in the art of war, strategy, horse-riding and physical training since a young age so naturally she doesn't have the time to embroider and think of guys! So it makes sense that she will be reserved towards AS when professing her love. But not an issue; our AS understands and that's why he is YYDS and GeSun is the best CP!!

I think AS and LC have amazing chemistry. Why must Changge scream her love out for the entire world? As long as AS understands she doesn't care about others because that is the kind of strong person she is. She doesn't need any validation from others. And AS does understand, as seen in the last episode where he concurs with her that between us we don't need any formalities, its fine as long as I have you in my life.
Another point - Changge's love is evident in many instances. She saved A'Sun when Wang Jinkou was taken as a prisoner (she could have let him be taken as prisoner of Great Khan and then freed herself). Also she sacrificed herself to save him and his eagle division after AS's mothers death at the hands of She'er. She kept dreaming about him and writing his name in the temple. She wanted AS and his eagle division to be safe and gave the idea of faking death, She promised to be with him after he got shot. She took him to meet her mother, promised to be with him, wanted to go to the grasslands with him, promised to be safe for him, refused to chain him down in Chang'an.. The list is endless..

I do agree that falling in love for AS and LC was not in one particular moment and that he kept falling deeply in love with her as time passed. But I feel that there are these particular moments when as a viewer I find that 'Ahh this is the turning point for our AS!' And from this point onwards there is no turning back for AS.. The love between them is ever evolving and deepens as the series progresses but there are certain moments which do give us viewers these tingly 'you had me at hello (jerry maguire reference :P)' type moments..

I literally tell myself that I am too invested and maybe just want them to be together coz I am a huge fan of GeSun; but try as I may I cant help but have this strong feeling that they WL and DD are crushing hard on each other.. I mean they bloom in each other's presence and the way WL looks at DD is too hot!!

@WK1 - Yeah! I would not call it a typical 'slow burn romance'; the way they have handled it is so refreshing! No unnecessary misunderstandings or extended hate or either ML/FL being too cold/uncaring towards the other.. Its a mature relationship between two very strong characters.. And tbh A'Sun and Changge have spoiled me for future series.. They have set the bar when it comes to the kind of romance and stellar characters I want to see in leads..

Yay!! I find it extremely difficult to move on too! I have re-watched TLB about 3 times already.. I keep following GeSun tidbits on social media and have watched their Eng Subbed interviews many times! And each time I see GeSun I smile like a crazy!

Yes!! I love them a lot too! The feelings they have for each other, their character, their bonding is just amazing, sometimes very hard to describe.. And its because they have such amazing chemistry on and off screen that fans are going crazy about GeSun and hoping that they get together or are already together!!
