It just dawn on me that what the actor meant to say when he, as Aioon, utter "today, continue to stay with me" after he kisses Nawee toward the end of episode 6. Couldn't the actor enunciate his Thai more clearly? I'd fail my Thai exam if I were to speak like him! :D
@soul, did you report it to your teacher. If I were your teacher, I'd put the bully in detention and report him…
You could have reported him because he was also bullying others. At a school where I worked previously, bullying was clearly forbidden and I posted the school rules on my classroom wall, so I could point that out to the bully and his/her mother when they came to see me.
Ha-ha a little off topic there. but I suggest the best way is to Google the details. Cause even local Thai people…
I would hope that all schooled and "real" Thai children and teenagers are properly taught the real traditions of Songkran. As a foreigner, I learned about it in Thai culture class.
Just curiousity for Thai culture so anyone who’s Thai can tell me any big activities or any major differences…
Songkran is the Traditional Thai new year, 3-day-festival, and it emphasizes family gatherings and pouring of scented water over respected elders (including school teachers) hands to seek their blessings.
The other 6 or 8 episodes will be about the other couple. They decided to split the episodes between the couples…
Thanks! That makes a lot of sense now where they "sky" comes from. But then, in the original Thai language, the title just means "up to the stars." I couldn't figure out where the "sky" comes into play in the English title.
I mentally clapped when the Tawan character mentioned about Alfred Adler! Bravo to the scripwriter! I was pleasantly surprised Adler was brought up. Perhaps that is due to the fact that a few pop psychology books written for the laypersons were based on this psychoanalyst's theory of Individualistic Psychology.
I don't think that was transphobic at all. His fear is what was portrayed as ridiculous, not the character, and…
@jpny01 I totally agree. I rolled my eyes and thought the screenwriters went a bit too far in this non-binary and gender-fluidity identities that are promoted by media celebrities. But then, I remembered that this is indeed intended as entertainment, not education. For really curious people, there are actual semester-long courses about issues like these that they can take at progressive private universities in North America.
I'm not sure what in there was transphobic - the guy was shocked, was obviously coming around to the idea, and…
Decades ago, I had a similar encounter, but I reacted in fear, not because of the trans person, but alarmed that she might have been an impersonator, so I delegated my post to a colleague momentarily to get the head proctor to authorize her to sit for an exam.
The childish representation of sex unfortunatelly it's a thai thing. Ive seen in so many sereis now that I'm used…
Thanks! So this is what it is in the fantasy world of BL. I am always interested to know what people I interacted with think about same-sex relationship.
Damn, a lot of people find phupha bad guy. I find him good and dependable, the only thing creepy about him is…
I pay special attention when Aou is assuming this role as Pupha as I remember hearing that he had had stage acting experience and had to adapt to acting for the silver screen.
That would be so sweet for him to take care of his son this way, but it would be awkward since Theo talks about…
As a possibly-construed spoiler, I see the identity of "Enchante" to be someone who at least share French culture or heritage that Theo misses when he returns to Thailand. Also in the book, it is more obvious because Theo is half-French and has blue eyes. For those who have been abroad to study for an extended time, you will know that you'd feel extremely glad to connect with someone who shares your culture and heritage.
Did anyone recognize the cameo appearance of the series director? It took me a while to realize a clue to help viewers find him, because that regional Thai accent is not common in Bangkok Metropolis.
