I am afraid you miss the filial obligation that Thais held high in their society. The characters, according to what they imply in their dialog in the Thai language, state that. Touch does it for his mother, and Treenut does it for her mother (and step father). Time is a character that questions traditional Thai values. It makes sense because he had gone to study in New York as stated in episode 1 and 2.

Eventually, he'll get her because the Thai audience already anticipate that Time is the hero of the series, and Treenut is the heroine according to the Thai drama formula.

Get depiction of gay character in Thai society, and would be educational for the older gen who are watching this popular straight love drama.

It just dawn on me that what the actor meant to say when he, as Aioon, utter "today, continue to stay with me" after he kisses Nawee toward the end of episode 6. Couldn't the actor enunciate his Thai more clearly? I'd fail my Thai exam if I were to speak like him! :D

You could have reported him because he was also bullying others. At a school where I worked previously, bullying was clearly forbidden and I posted the school rules on my classroom wall, so I could point that out to the bully and his/her mother when they came to see me.

@soul, did you report it to your teacher. If I were your teacher, I'd put the bully in detention and report him to his parents. I actually did once.

I would hope that all schooled and "real" Thai children and teenagers are properly taught the real traditions of Songkran. As a foreigner, I learned about it in Thai culture class.

Songkran is the Traditional Thai new year, 3-day-festival, and it emphasizes family gatherings and pouring of scented water over respected elders (including school teachers) hands to seek their blessings.

Thanks! That makes a lot of sense now where they "sky" comes from. But then, in the original Thai language, the title just means "up to the stars." I couldn't figure out where the "sky" comes into play in the English title.

Great episode 5! I paid attention to Thanaboon's scenes in which he plays Phupha and he acts really well. I hope to see more of him in future scenes.

I mentally clapped when the Tawan character mentioned about Alfred Adler! Bravo to the scripwriter! I was pleasantly surprised Adler was brought up. Perhaps that is due to the fact that a few pop psychology books written for the laypersons were based on this psychoanalyst's theory of Individualistic Psychology.

@jpny01 I totally agree. I rolled my eyes and thought the screenwriters went a bit too far in this non-binary and gender-fluidity identities that are promoted by media celebrities. But then, I remembered that this is indeed intended as entertainment, not education. For really curious people, there are actual semester-long courses about issues like these that they can take at progressive private universities in North America.

Actually, I really like Por's character and hope its inclusion in this series will educate BL audiences to one aspect of gay life.

Decades ago, I had a similar encounter, but I reacted in fear, not because of the trans person, but alarmed that she might have been an impersonator, so I delegated my post to a colleague momentarily to get the head proctor to authorize her to sit for an exam.

I pay special attention when Aou is assuming this role as Pupha as I remember hearing that he had had stage acting experience and had to adapt to acting for the silver screen.
