Yeah you can say it was an open ending...but I think that believing Chu yue as dead is wrong...they clearly mentioned "10 or so year later" and then Chu yue was shown on the mountain.... also she wasn't shown dead...Chu yue,Yang ying and li tonguang were very much shown alive until the end (before they said 10 years later).... So Chu yue isn't imagining the kid... Then about seeing the whole group at the end...did you notice the colour contrast? It was shown like halo.. I mean a bit lighter and brighter than the usual...so that was her imagination..but the kid definitely wasn't shown like this... I mean the colour contrast was normal
