Just finished episode 10 and so far the FL parents are useless. Especially the mother. Not sure I could ever like her character even if she “has her reasons”.
Trying to drag Qing Yu to her hometown to force her to change her name because some people find the name Yu to be unlucky for women is insane. Yes she’s unlucky to have a coward as a mother.
Bei Yu came to you after she suffered a miscarriage which will cause mental and physical pain and your first instinct is to slap her.
Bei Yu is begging for help after being thrown around and presumably assaulted by men but your first thought is to protect your image and reputation by ignoring and pretty much leaving her to die alone because you care more about how random people see you. You aren’t even popular or rich just some randoms in a village.
Only person who seems to care about Bei Yu is her brother and sister, whereas the parents just wanna run and hide. Hell even Ming Sheng cares more than her parents.
Even the man that had a crush on Bei Yu cared about her more than her parents. Although he was spineless and has massive guilt he has a conscience and tried to help or guide.
Ming Sheng’s story is just sad really. Luckily his parents are financially well off.
His father I’m 70/30 split on. One side of me is thinking he’s a bad father and someone who doesn’t understand his son and the other part of me is thinking that he wanted to have a career as well as provide the best for him wife and child but got lost in how much time it would consume.
His mother just leaving confused me really. Can’t she take him with her? I get she needed freedom but practically abandoning your son for it doesn’t seem right.
When they reunited she didn’t know how tall he’d be so it’s been some years since they last met. Considering her fame and wealth you’d think they would have met sooner and more frequently.
Either way he has parents with different priorities one slightly better than the other.
Seems like Ming Sheng’s father might still like his mother but I’m guessing the nurse is his partner now.
Guys, did anyone notice the doc asking dong-ju to get a Head MRI? But why would he ask that idk wht I missed?…
He has brain damage essentially meaning more blows to his head could result in death or brain death aka in a coma
Punch Drunk is a common term for boxers after a long career which is why tons of older boxers have mental problems such as slurred speech and mobility issues.
Punch drunk is also used in other sports such as football when heading the ball constantly can cause damage which is why in England heading the ball is banned at kids games

As far as I remember he joins back when there’s a crisis.
