But the way I see it, Shibata had always loved both of them but Shiori was more like a family to him and Kaori was more like a romantic interest. As you said, his feelings started to shift many years later when he reunited with Shiori. It's true that they did drop hints here and there, but i think those were just in order to foreshadow the ending, not to imply that Shibata had always had feelings for Shiori. If that makes any sense. But well, viewers have the rights to interpret the drama however they want. Personally I'm ok with the ending, but idk maybe my brain is already too fucked up for common sense haha..

we might have lost Sumire in 2017 but instead we got a more complex, ambitious and profound Momo, as a pet he didn't just depend on her but he also understood her feelings, did everything he could to protected her, make her happy; as an artist/dancer, he knew how to translate his feelings, emotions into dance moves and he was determined to following his dream. I personally think his character was better written in the remake.

Firstly, as one of the comment below said, just Shison Jun's performance as Momo/Takeshi alone (in both acting and dancing) is enough for anyone to give this drama a try. He did a freaking good job here and i don't think he got enough credit for it.

Here are some reasons for you to start watching this version (no spoilers):
- Shison Jun
- Lighthearted rom-com with high value of healing (especially Momo x Sumire's parts)
- The cuteness that might wake your maternal instinct (https://youtu.be/6OqOCvOisGE)
- Great chemistry between the 2 leads.
- Shison Jun's dancing scenes and practice scenes
- Some of the best kisses and warmest hugs you've seen in J-drama in recent years.
- Do you believe in destiny? Or have a soft spot for fated romance? This drama's for you.
- And last but not least, Shison Jun.

I've watched both versions of the drama, the 2017 one first and then the 2003 later and honestly i enjoyed the 2017 more. It's true that the 2003 one got a more badass and superior Sumire, but aside from that i still prefer the 2017 one.

idk i just love watching him, there’s something about the way he acts makes me feel like he’s always giving his best, even for the tiniest roles. Looking forward to seeing more complex characters from him.

having had bad experiences with Japanese wlw (GL) themed dramas/movies before, i was skeptical when i started this movie. i'm so glad this was good. i loved it and i'm willing to watch it many more times. gosh, what a beautiful day to be a bisexual.
