is it bromance as in "we are super duper friends" or is it bromance as in chinese bromances like "there some tension…
it's the "there's some tension between us but lets not develop it on screen" for sure lol i swear at one point it almost felt like one of them would spurt out "because I like you" but they went with "I'm not sure why" instead. but the tension is still there tho.
good film editing, i really love the title intro at the beginning. at times it felt like i was watching a 90-00s movie that would become a cult classic in the current days lol as for the movie plot, yes i also think it would've worked better as a drama, but the movie itself isn't bad at all, not too excellent but a very enjoyable watch.
The phrase "takane no hana" is a Japanese idiomatic expression that literarily means ‘a flower at the top of a tall mountain’. Figuratively, it describes something or someone that are way out of your league and very difficult for you to achieve. In particular, it is often used by men to describe a beautiful girl whom they feel unqualified for or having a date with.
Takane No Hana and Takane To Hana are 2 completely different dramas inspired from the "takane no hana" expression while the "to" in Takane To Hana is like a way of playing with words.
WHAT? SHE WAS THAT GENIUS KID FROM MEI-CHAN NO SHITSUJI? THE ONE WITH SUZUKI RYOHEI? and you're telling me SHE'S ALSO THE YOUNG AMEMIYA FROM HOTARU NO HIKARI? WHAT- where have I been? where did time go? why is she a full-fledged young beautiful women now? ;~; I feel so old omg
huh when I read the news I thought this was a drama, didn't expect it to be a movie. I guess I'll have to wait until next year to be able to watch it then T__T also, since both of the MC are mangaka I don't think "sensei" should be translated into "teacher"...
Amazing. Simply amazing. I haven't even watched the SP yet (which I'm sure is gonna be awesome anyway) and I still think it's already amazing as it is. As you watch, you can tell the amount of efforts that the team behind this drama had put in by all the details, the clothes, the sub plot for the tiniest characters, the knowledge and research, even down to the attention to the smallest room/desk decor. They all added so much to the story and characters. Imagine the amount of time they had spent to prepare all that, surely there were a lot of silent heroes working behind dramas as well. Man, they even used the 1990s-2000s j-drama filter/effect for the "10 years ago" flashback scenes lol And I love that little house box they put the drafts in so that the editors could come and pick up anytime, it was a cute little detail that you have to pay attention to notice.
Also I love it when j-dramas give supporting characters some good character developments, and in this drama there are a lot of very subtle yet very sweet, sometimes even excellent developments for the supporting ones. That sub plot of Yoneocchi and Masamune was so darn cute and precious tbh I couldn't help but UwU everytime.
One tiny minus point though, the first half of the last episode felt a bit rushed, it was like they cut it short so that it can fit in 10 episodes. It was a bit confusing for me but since it didn't affect the drama much so it's ok I guess.
sorry for the really late reply, i just now remember some of the dramas' names and saw that same house in another drama again lol here are the dramas: - Unmei ni, Nita Koi (2016): Shirai Maho's house - Call Boy (2018): Mido Shizuka's office - Jimi ni Sugoi! (2016): one of the authors' house in Episode 3 - Renai Mangaka (2021): Kinjo Karen's house hmm I'm sure there's more, i just can't remember them all.
Coming back here after finishing the drama with a bucket of tears, I got emotionally attached to the siblings a bit too much so I couldn't help sobbing here and there through out the drama. Usually I try to avoid dramas that are too heavy about death or illness but that's not the case for 4-punkan, I'd rather say it's more about family and sacrifice. It was a beautiful and heartwarming watch for me. Now I feel like a dumb ass for letting this one sit on my PTW list for 2 whole years just because of the theme and the rating. Very underrated indeed.
Sometimes the universe drops the perfect drama in your lap, right when you need it. I needed something light-hearted…
gosh, same. i currently have withdrawal symptoms after finished this drama. I just can't help going back to watch my favorite scenes. I need more of their cuteness in my life. If only I could watch this for the 1st time again. Dorama gods, please give this drama a season 2 or at least a SP episode! T__T
The drama didn't only once, but twice, changed everything around and still kept the dynamic between the characters. Some viewers might be put off by it but I think that was very bold of the writers to do that. It's still a good drama imo, I enjoyed it through and through. And Aiko is so gorgeous uwu her chemistry with Karibe is just *chef kiss*
how did they got Kubozuka Yosuke back in the dorama business and why is no one talking about it????
as for the movie plot, yes i also think it would've worked better as a drama, but the movie itself isn't bad at all, not too excellent but a very enjoyable watch.
Highly recommend this one to anyone that enjoys Shinya Shokudo (Midnight Dinner). this drama have the same vibes and format, just without the food.
