On Meet Me after School Feb 1, 2019
I'm so glad I barely knew anything about this drama before I started watching it, I knew nothing about the controversies or the hate comments it received. I watched the whole thing in one go and totally enjoyed it. It really reminds of Mitsu no Aji with the taboo/age gap theme, the visual, the stunning music (kudos to the composers). Both dramas i greatly enjoyed and gave 9.5, so I highly recommend Mitsu no Aji if you like this one. Chugakusei Nikki has more likable characters though, which I really liked.

Also i can't believe this is Okada Kenshi's debut. Wow! I mean, I'm not saying his performance was excellent but it sure was impressive. You can really tell his character got more and more mature over the years in the drama, not only by his look but by his acting as well. Hopefully they'll give him more roles after this because he seems to have great potential. Same goes for Arimura Kasumi, I heard she hasn't got any good roles after her break-out asadora, I hope she'll get more chances because she deserves better.

Can you believe I watched Call Boy twice and liked her character so muchhh then 2 days later I watched Tonari no Kazoku and didn't even recognize her? Now i'm looking at her filmography and i got mindblown so hard lol I'm not sure that I was that blind or she's just too good at acting.

"But here, the real story is nowhere as deep as that." said the man who has a huge scar on his forehead lol it's a movie about people getting meaningless sex but the ending sure makes you think quite a lot about which is true and which is not.
The reason I watched this movie was because I just finished Call Boy (2018) recently and really liked it, so I looked up the movies from the same director (Daisuke Miura), leading me to this one. Not disappointed.

Episode 8 is done and uploaded~
Hello. Thank you so much for working on this drama. I've wanted to watch it since the day they announced the cast but due to the lack of my Japanese skills, i couldn't watch it for a whole year. I just found out recently that it's being subbed thanks to you. You're doing god's works. Thank you so much!

i'm half way through the drama and i just want to say that i wish i could give everyone who involved in this drama a warm hug TT~TT they did a very good job bringing those meaningful stories about different families to the screen.
and did anyone notice how they foreshadowed a lot about each household by the details they put in the title sequence? like the feathers in Igarashi's, petals in Hirose's, confetti in Kawamura's and bubbles in Komiyama's? also the little rainbow above 'Hirose' is really cute. i really love it, such an awesome and beautiful title sequence.
On No Longer Human Jan 22, 2019
look at all that talent in the cast. 3 beautiful and talented actresses from 3 different generations.

Title Call Boy
oh wow... the acting, the lighting, the music, the sound (lol), the plot, the ending!! i started watching this without knowing anything about it so i didn't know what to expect and now i'm kinda amazed tbh. I actually didn't really like Tori's role from Love for Beginners, it was forgettable so it took me awhile to remember why he looked so familiar while watching Call Boy, and he was amazing in this. definitely start follow his works from now on, hope he'll do more dark and mature roles in the future.

On And Then There was Light Oct 10, 2018
apparently the bluray/dvd has been out since May 2018 but no one has ripped it yet. I think it might have got overlooked because there another Japanese movie with an exact same name that was released in 2017 as well.
On Fortuna's Eye May 15, 2018
Yessss, a new work directed by Takahiro Miki with talented young leads (as always). Interesting plot as well. Can't wait!

(Takahiro Miki deserves a profile page on MDL btw his works are amazing)

the "No One" soundtrack, I don't think I've heard such a lonely soundtrack before. I could clearly feel the loneliness after the first few times I heard it on the drama, even before knowing that it was titled "No One". And every time the reprise version plays, it pains me so much.

The drama was painfully beautiful, I love it. The story reminds me of V for Vendetta (western film, 2005) and Zankyou no Terror (anime, 2014), but Ouroboros was really something different. I'm a sucker for character development and this drama really satisfied me. The acting was so on point as well, though I admit that that compliment might be a bit biased because I was already a fan of Juri, Shun and Toma long before I started this drama. But they really did an excellent job, I'm so glad they picked this drama.

that's a very very very unflattered profile picture. someone please upload another one, he deserves a better pic (and a main role that gets the girl in the end).

I'm late af but what's with those bad reviews and comments here?? lol they almost made me decide to delete this drama before I started watching. thank god I still watched it and enjoyed it a lot. tbh it feels so good to watch this after watching Hirugao (2017).
