Nana and Mugi are both my girl crushes so of course this is on my watchlist. no words can describe how excited i was when i first heard they would be in 1 movie and when i read the plot lol well and when i saw the trailer as well.
Yeah it was good, i was surprised it was that good lmao. imo It’s very good at balancing the comedy, the mind-blowing, the heart-warming and the romantic elements in one drama. And the chemistry between couples are good enough to make you root for them (and feel heartbroken because of them)
It’s dark in a very... weird way (I’m not complaining tho). There’s only 2 eps that are not dark which are 6 and 10 if I remember correctly. I thought ep 9 would be less dark but then the last few minutes gave me all the creeps thinking about all the possibilities could happen.
If there’s one thing I learned from this spin-off, it’s probably is that Mikoto and Takauji don’t belong to the world where they don’t end up with each other.
Definitely check it out if you like Takauji x Mikoto. And watch ep 10 if you want a sequel of Todome no Kiss.
As the one who added the drama and made most of the current edits, I only included information that is available…
thank you for adding this drama to MDL, i wouldn't have known about it if it wasn't here. while searching for subs of this drama, i happened to bump into its page on jdorama.com and saw a cast list of 23 actors/actresses. unfortunately, the characters' names are written in kanji and my japanese is not good enough to translate them so i wasn't sure if i should add them without any characters' names :-/
All characters are so likeable, wow. That was a fun watch. I just really appreciate the healthy competition of the 3 male leads in this drama. no ill intentions. they just purely want happiness for Junko <3
it's now rated by 250+ users and ranked #126. though i still can't find it in the top movies list.
Ok, thanks. I just found it at #29 in the Top Movies list, that’s great. When i said it was ranked #126 because it says so on this page, in the movie details section. So I went and searched and didn’t find it at #126 in the Top Movies, it was confusing. Maybe that “#126” is supposed to mean the Top Overall list?
all those episodes and they still don't get a baby in the end, I really would've liked to have them have their…
It would have been wonderful if they had gotten a baby for themselves. but I can understand why they gave Nana and Daiki that ending. I think they were trying to send a message that couples don't have to have children (particularly, biological children) to be happy and it's OK to stop trying. After trying the best they could, Nana and Daiki have all the rights to be as however they want to be. They deserve to be happy and they can achieve that as long as they have each other. They can always adopt a child though. And I think the ending is just perfect.
They put the wrong Jung Jae Eun as the director of this movie though. She's not an actress.
Also, if you like movies like Butterfly Sleep, I recommend checking out Columbus (2017). It's an American movie but directed by a Korean director and it has the same vibe of beauty of Butterfly Sleep.
Gosh, Rika. Why did she have to be that cute?? My heartttt :(((Also 10/10 for music, both soundtrack and theme…
I love Rika so much. She was too good for Kanji, I understand that. But still, it pains me that she couldn’t find her own happiness. Of all the characters she was the one that deserved to be happy the most :((
Upon my second time watching, i spotted something that i’d like to believe it was an easter egg from the screenwriter - Nojima Shinji. At around 9:59 of Episode 1, a painting is being displayed at the exhibition and it was the same painting made by the character Fumiya from Hitotsu Yane no Shita (1993), another drama written by Nojima Shinji.
Saiko was the cutest, i love her so much.

Also 10/10 for music, both soundtrack and theme song. Probably the best original theme song of all 90s’ dorama i’ve watched so far.
