Have you seen the disguiser? Play by hu ge.. if im gonna nominate best republican era/spy drama that drama is…
Yes, for me too disguiser is also up there with the greats. It's just that I liked sparrow a little more. Disguiser has a truly amazing cast of actors though :)
Just WOW.. this might the best republican drama I've ever seen. Cinematic camerawork, snappy dialogue, excellent acting - everything is just second to none. Sparrow is my favorite spy cdrama but this one might dethrone it if it sticks the ending. I really love how morally gray characters are.. they feel like real humans. Speaking of the cinematography, the way it's been shot reminds me so much of Winter Begonia - another masterpiece of republican genre.
I'm really confused why Pan Yue doesn't look all that surprised when he sees the 2FL hugging SZ during the Lantern Festival in episode 14 . He must have known that the 2FL was very close with the original Yang Caiwei. I expected him to become more suspicious of SZ.
Just started watching In Blossom and my gosh.. his acting feels so natural, he has incredible chemistry with both female leads and his voice is super hot 🔥
Wow, I'm really impressed by the cinematography, camera work and editing. Every scene is a delight to watch. Very smooth transitions and nice original soundtrack.
i'm the only one who doesn't want the body swap to happen? i don't have anything against the acting of jjy but the original yang cai wei has such a great chemistry with the ML. I'm in the middle of second episode and got spoiled about what's coming next T_T
I'm on my second rewatch and can't get enough of He Lei's acting. He plays Ning Cheng, the right hand of Ning Yi. His acting is so good and so underrated.
It's so strange to watch this after My Journey to You. Ryan Cheng's acting is top-notch and yet he plays so vastly different characters. Really looking forward to anything he'll be part next.
Some parts of this drama reminded me of my favorite tv series - 12 Monkeys, esp the part with travelling in time lovers.. if you're into western dramas, don't miss out on this one ^^
This was so good, but damn, i wanted a happy ending. So they both went through life single and miserable. No family,…
Sorry to ping you. Just want to comment on your last paragraph. I think writers tried to make ML stand out.
There was a scene in episode 2 (8:10) when Shen Buyan asks the time but uses å‡ ç‚¹ instead of 时辰 (shÃchen, the time unit in ancient China).
I agree that I also would love to see more of such scenes but at least ML hasn't adapted perfectly at first and occasionally lets his true identity slip.
Wooow, i cried my eyes out.. one the most tear-jerking dramas I've seen. So much care put into every scene and interaction, all characters are relatable no matter the side they're on. The FL is amazing, hope her career will skyrocket, I need her in more dramas.
I have written the detailed summaries for all 12 episodes... They contain MAJOR spoilers so click the link below…
Woow, thank you for putting so much effort into writing all this! I'm on my second rewatch and I've been reading your notes after each episode. Love reading your summaries and comments highlighted in different colors.
I've just started the second arc (13 episode) and can't wait to binge more episodes, never thought I'd like a drama of this genre. The acting is second to none and the plot for the most part is unpredictable and quite refreshing.
Thank you for another great review! Your comparison with Ni Ni's portrayal of Feng Zhiwei got me intrigued. As a fan of tRoP, now I have to check this out. Can any of the MLs be compared to Ning Yi's character?
I'm seeing a lot of good reviews so I decided to give this a try. I'm around episode 3 and tbh it feels kind of…
I was definetely hooked by the end of episode 3 but try out the episode 4, it might click with you. This episode is entirely different from what you've seen untill now and it will explain many things about what happened 20 years ago.

I'll just leave this video here for anyone crazy enough to ship him and the ML:

I can't put a character's name to the face 🥲
