Seo Yul only saw her as an adult from her dead/frozen body in part 1 and didnt recognize her either then (only realized it later was her from the bird whistle) and she is dressed very differently now. It is strongly hinted in ep 2 when they met she looked familiar to him but he couldnt quite pinpoint it. From one of the trailers he definitely puts everything together at some point.
