I think if he took time to calm down again that would be unrealistic. He had time to think, adjust his thoughts…
Yes, I think the journey itself was a way for him to reflect on everything. And the letter was an explanation to himself and Xiguang. So, when he returned, he was actually ready to face Xiguang.

I realize that not everyone in this world shares the same view of right and wrong. In the comments section, some even argued that it wasn't Man Nianyuan's fault that she intentionally make people misunderstands that she was Nie Chengyuan's daughter. It was because of her mother's influence. Come on, she's an adult. Even though she's quite pitiful for having a mother like that who clouded her moral outlook, she can still think for herself. She consciously chose to do everything she did, without being forced by others. Then, people just blame her parents? Absolving her of all responsibility with "it's because of her mother's poor teachings"?

It seems those people are right. Because people tend to have high expectations of good people, their one mistake can earn them the hatred of many. However, because people have low expectations of bad people, their one good deed can almost cancel out their other mistakes. What an irony.

So I don’t really get the conflict at all. Like why would Lin Yusen even feel the need to blame someone for…
He just couldn't accept that fate, I guess. Not that he blamed anyone. As he wrote in his letter, he didn't actually blame Nie Xiguang for the accident. He tried to accept it as a consequence of his desire to meet her. What he couldn't accept was that his accident became meaningless when Nie Xiguang didn't even care about him after that. He finally made peace with that fate after meeting Nie Xiguang again and seeing that she cared about him too. However, when he found out that the one he was going to meet in the past wasn't actually Nie Xiguang, he questioned the accident again. He couldn't accept fate again. As he said, "my life has turned into a joke." Of course this is not anyone responsibility. But I think, MNY should apologize to him for the lies she told and how she didn't even visit him. He should also apologize to NXG for being a bit rude to her due to a misunderstanding (I think they already did that in eps 22-24 even though it wasn't that explicit).

I understand your point. For me, no matter how much time passes, as long as a wound never truly heals, it will still hurt when you think about it. Perhaps due to daily activities or other pressing matters, the wound will be forgotten for a while. But as long as it's remembered, the pain remains. And the healing time and the way it heals are different for everyone. Maybe for Lin Yusen, he hasn't found the healing he needs. That doesn't mean it has to come from Nie Xiguang. But, what is clear is that healing has to come from his willingness to make peace with fate. That's what I find difficult. And this is what he got after reuniting with Nie Xiguang. He began to make peace with fate. Of course, it seems unhealthy because he is constantly tied to the past. But, that doesn't mean he doesn't want to let go. It's just too difficult for him to let go. The ability to let go itself comes from effort and is also a blessing. Some take only a short time. And others take years. Like his mother, who still couldn't find a way to come to terms with the loss of his father (her husband) and chose to leave. Even now, she still cries when she thinks about him, which shows that it still hurts. But I understand your point about feeling that the direction this drama is going is perhaps not so good.

It's the mental -and sometimes more- manifestation of an obsession. It makes little sense outside of cultivation…
I've also read some cultivation novels 😂. And what I've gathered from them is that inner demons are a kind of obsession that binds those who hinder their progress in cultivation and must be overcome if they want to advance. So, the context is very negative. Therefore, I found it quite odd that it was used in Lin Yusen's letter to Nie Xiguang. Because I felt that aside from his anger towards Nie Xiguang, Lin Yusen actually still liked her.

I felt the same but half way through his trip, i understood why it was written into the script. In the novel,…
Actually, I can empathize quite a lot with Lin Yusen. Because having your hopes shattered with no possibility of them ever coming back again, after you have tried so hard for them, can truly destroy a person’s life. Especially when it all happens because of a meeting that would never have taken place if there hadn’t been a lie from the very beginning. So I really understand it when he says, “my life turned into a joke.” And that is actually the hardest thing for him to accept.

At first, he could accept it because he believed that the meeting was with the person he liked. That’s why he was able to accept the consequences. But when that person showed no concern at all for his condition after the accident, he could no longer accept it. Then, when he finally chose to let go of the past because he cared so deeply about that person, he was eventually able to accept that fate. But once again, fate seemed to toy with him by revealing the truth—that the meeting was not actually with the person he liked.

In his mind, the thought “if only…” must keep resurfacing. That is what makes it so hard for him to make peace with the past—because of all those “if onlys” constantly echoing in his head. And he wasn’t really trying to blame Nie Xiguang for the accident (before he knew the truth that it was Ma Nianyuan who wanted to meet him). Rather, he felt that the accident became meaningless, his injuries became meaningless, because even the person he wanted to meet didn’t care about him at all.

An inner demon is usually something negative, so why did he call Xiguang that? Was “inner demon” a mistranslation?
Yes, I also don't understand the context for this ? Is she his obsession or something similar ? In what kind of direction ? Something to let go or...

I don't understand the context of the inner demon that Lin Yusen is referring to. Is it some kind of obsession? Or something that continues to haunt him?

And the reason she was injured actually had little to do with the ML. It was mostly due to her own recklessness in daring to climb onto the second-floor balcony. And because the ML's friend accidentally screamed when she saw her.

I guess I now know how Chinese series an easily be converted to movies…. There’s a lot of fillers in the middle.…
I'm sorry, but i don't really think so. I've already watched cdrama for 5 years and have watched all kinds of cliché cdrama stories. And I still like this kind of drama. And there are many people I know who have been watching Chinese dramas for longer than I have, but they still love this drama. Maybe it's not your cup of tea. And that's okay. But, that doesn't mean only new cdrama watchers will enjoy this. It all depends on taste. As long as it suits someone's taste, they'll love it no matter how long they've been watching Chinese dramas.

Guys, don't pay too much attention to Nie Xiguang's father. If he had such a high level of awareness from the start, he wouldn't have hung out with that white moonlight, let alone divorced with his wife. In fact, if he suddenly showed awareness as a good father who gave his children freedom, especially in terms of choosing a partner, then he wouldn't be the chauvinistic Nie Chengyuan who constantly felt pressured because his wife was better than him in everything. I think this is why his wife divorced him, she was just tired of dealing with this person. Let alone his mistress. She just doesn't want to bother with them. The same goes for Nie Xiguang. She practically just ignored her father.

Exactly. That friend of his betrayed him the most.
That's what makes me most uncomfortable with people. When they act like nothing happened when someone else is hurt. Zhuang Xu is like that. His friend is too. But I think his friend probably thinks the ML has moved on, so he's hesitant to tell her. But still hiding it and acting like it's all in the past without caring about the ML's feelings can really hurt him.
