Its one drawback is I think they kinda write her inconsistently to fit certain story arcs. The lyrics to the OST, that's the Thong we're watching now with guys 2-4. The one with guy 1, that's more Lhong Fai's Karnkaew and really doesn't match up with either the OST lyrics or her backstory in ep1.
Personally, I don't see anything in her upbringing that points toward her growing up to be overly materialistic or a gold digger. She's smart, works hard, is a fighter, does what she can to survive and her weakness -- continuously looking for the love and care that she grew up without.
Hope the inconsistency is just something they did to fit guy 1's story arc. Guy 1's character was also written inconsistently or just doesn't make sense to me, but that's another rant I might address in a review instead lol. Guess I just wasn't a fan of that story arc, so much so that I thought about dropping this but glad I stuck with it. The story got a lot better after that.
Can I ask wdym about the cut version on ONE31 channel?
The cut version is usually made for TV, and they shorten, cut out or tone down the 18+ scenes like kissing, love scenes, violence, drugs, etc. The uncut version is usually uncensored.
Both versions are an hour long from what I know so far.
Many firsts for Engfa. Please correct if info is wrong.

- There will be fanmeets in China, roadshow to Vietnam (confirmed), Latin America (countries unannounced) - Teaser is really short, so I can’t tell much from it. The production quality looks great. - They re-enacted a scene from when they first met.
- KBoss, the director of Paradise of Thorns, envisioned Engfa for Mo ever since watching her compete in Miss Grand International. - In the scene where she kicks the basket of durians, she split her toenail doing it and didn't realize it until someone pointed it out. She shrugged it off and carried on. - As beautiful as the setting is, it's actually very hot, sun blazing and a lot of dust to the point that she was coughing/sneezing blood.
More than worth the wait. As much as I followed updates about this movie from the start, I was not prepared for all that happened.
Current Thai movie critics reviews & ratings are 8.5-10. Will be interesting to see the response from international critics, when the movie begins release in more countries. Congratulations to the Paradise of Thorns team on their incredible work. They should be very proud.
Give it a shot. This Thongdee is a good person, much like the Pinky version. I like that they flesh out the relationship between her & grandma more here, & there's more focus on her character as a person.
What I don't like, based on the trailer anyway, is they turned most of the guys into scumbags & seem to focus too much on sex & degradation whereas the Pinky version didn't. 2-3 scumbags would be ok but 6-7 is excessive. Master of the House had the 2, and I was already keeling over.
I really like Pinky's Thongdee, and I'm curious to see how things will pan out for Baifern's Thongdee in the end, if there are any changes. I mean they changed most of the guys, so why can't they change a central person like the grandma?

Guessing the grandma is saving all the money for Thongdee. If they want to stick to the original with Thongdee ending up alone and sad, her grandma could pass away leaving everything to her, and that's when she finds out her grandma loved her all along.
Easily one of my fav actresses. She's so amazingly charming in both her roles I've seen her in so far. As Yiwa, she's like this total boss P' - beautiful, sophisticated, sweet, and all that. And as Mook, she's the quirky, adorable & caring nong. I love how different she can be, her facial expressions, emotions and the charm she brings to her characters and nails it every time. 🥰🥰
Dropped at ep3. I thought about finishing this for Foon, but I can't with those two dummies. Explained in spoilers.
The guy is just so dumb. Causes his wife's miscarriage and then proceeds to cheat on her. Surprise pikachu face when she wants to leave him. All this because he's gullible enough to believe some other woman over his wife who he's known for years and has never done anything to betray his trust.
Said woman is also dumb. Marries a guy who she believes isn't in love with her, stays with him and proceeds to ruin the life of the woman who she thinks he is in love with. Don't know if he actually is. In either case, she should have never married him or divorced him. There's nothing chaining her to him other than her own stupidity.
Despite everything, Gap still could have redeemed himself. When Foon broke up with him, he should have taken the lessons he learned from that relationship and vow not to do those things again in the next one. That's how he can make amends with his guilt. And later on, sincerely apologize to Foon again. Whether she accepts it or not, that's up to her. But he would have learned his lessons and become a better person for it.
Earnearn in a GL role? I waited 2 years for this lol. I figured it would be w ONE but GDH will do for now. She & Fairy were so cute at the GDH Lineup event.
Partial/Brief recap of the GDH Lineup Event. Just going by my notes + memory
- Director Boss was inspired by the equality bill for this movie. - The cast are briefed not to talk much about the movie other than what's in the trailer. - Many people contacted Jeff about the movie. Most notable ones are the people asking to buy durian from him lol. - Toey says the setting is beautiful, beyond his dreams. He learned to grow durian. - Engfa says what you see in the trailer is just 1%. It won't only be an entertaining movie but a meaningful one with many messages that it wants to tell.
Since the movie is inspired by Thailand's Marriage Equality Bill before it passed in June, they were asked if the movie is now outdated. Engfa disagrees because although the bill passed, there are still people who don't understand and aren't accepting and hopes the movie helps to spread awareness and acceptance about the bill's importance and necessity.
How Engfa handled rejection is so refreshing. We need to see more of that in dramas. She took her chance with Earn, got rejected and they are still great friends. Girl doesn't need to waste years on what-ifs. It opens her to someone else who hopefully is as great as she is if not more so, and there's no tension between friends where the other person doesn't even know why.
The actress playing her though. Her pfp on here is a crime lol. Please someone fix it.
Durian is like the king of fruits in Thailand lol. GDH really could have picked any produce, but I think they were pretty thoughtful and clever to have picked durian, both as a symbolism/metaphor for the story and its characters and as a homage to Thai culture.
Another side GL couple was announced for this 7 months ago. Not sure if they are still in this.
The director says the story's focus won't be so much on intimate scenes as you'd typically expect from a GL but more focus on the diverse love and social injustices in that era.
I mostly like Thai PBS but have been disappointed with their treatment of sapphic characters in their stories. Pattern has been if they don't end up together or the character sucks, they'll get a lot of screentime. Whereas if they are endgame or the character is great, they'll get significantly less screentime. I honestly don't think they do it intentionally and hope this story breaks that pattern.
