This episode made me think of #Killstagram. In this one, I understand why the girl was mad and held a grudge against them, but the people who were one of the main causes for her and her mom's misery are the people behind their screens & keyboards. In #Killstagram, it was extremely satisfying that the person first went for the ppl behind their keyboards. Like yes, please go after the right people. Damn.
I saw a 1m clip comparison of Ch3+ vs Netflix subs. In the scene where they were talking about the son-in-law eggs, Lada definitely says "son-in-law" (Netflix), not "daughter-in-law" (Ch3+)
"It might help me become a son-in-law" - Netflix "Maybe I get to be the daughter-in-law" - Ch3+
Whoever is translating over on Ch3+ must've thought she mispoke, bc she's female. But no, she really did mean to say "son-in-law".
I only watched about 3 subbed scenes from Netflix, and the subs were accurate. Theirs tend to flow better in English whereas Ch3+ looks more like the Thai transcript was put into something like Google Translate, & adjustments were made where needed.
I think Irin's mom will come around, & we'll get either a happy ending or an open ending (like the previous one) that's positive. From the trailer, you could see Irin's mom face a mix of conflicted and soft when Auntie Jo is on her knees begging her to give their children the chance to love and be happy. Also, from the next ep preview, when Aunt Jo said something to CJ about thinking back to when she first had Irin and what she wanted for her as a mother.
In the previous one, the FL decided to be friends for the time being and letting time do its thing. People generally want happy endings, but I really liked that one because it portrayed more healthy & realistic relationship development, boundaries and choices.
If we get an open ended one here, it could be bc Night wants to become a stronger person first and work/focus on making the Joann Bar financially stable. Not only for herself & Aunt Jo but also to prove to Irin's mom that she is a good person for Irin.
The only thing worrying me is the romance. I hope ONE won't go the typical thai drama trope of the person seeking revenge falling in love with the perpetrator's family member and just making it more modern.
Definitely recommend if you like revenge dramas. In the beginning of the revenge, I got mad at Tokumichi's moral compass, but he comes through. I feel so bad for Shoko, Tokumichi, Yoriko, the parents, the mom, basically all really good people who happen to catch the attention of shitty people & got their lives senselessly destroyed.
There are 2 surprises towards the end.
They can honestly do a season 2, Taxi Driver (kdrama) style, so I can get more closure lol.
Club Friday The Series is based on real life stories from callers who call into Club Friday Radio with DJs, PAoy & PChod. Usually callers call about their relationship problems, and so the stories have tended to be a mess reflecting that fact lol. The original owner of the story is likely to be sapphic (unless the caller is Irin's mom), & the director is LGBTQ.
Both PAoy & PChod have extensively sat down w both Engfa & Charlotte as well as many others to interview them about LGBTQ+ issues in a series of interviews called "Club Pride Day".
I understand people may still be apprehensive from the years of GLs w sad endings we've had, and a Club Friday story might be a little too dicey for them at the moment. Understandable. I'm not watching every GL under the sun either just bc they're GLs. What I will say is that I've watched some of the Club Friday stories this season, and they have more substance (death, grief, mental health, divorce & now LGBTQ) than seasons' past.
My god. That last ep was crazy. It's so intense that I'm going to need to recover for a good week.
Thank you ONE for putting it all in for a great drama, production, team & amazing cast. They had so much chemistry both on & off screen. I'm going to miss Mae Ratree, Kulab, Botan, Tienyod, Raan & everyone so much. Hope to see them reunite in something w ONE again in the future.
Watch it on ONE's youtube channel when it's live. At least one person will be translating it in the comments.
ONE will eventually have subs available as well. They usually provide subs after a drama finishes airing. Them having subs while a drama is airing is very rare and might be something they're just beginning to do because of the OneD Originals.
Honestly was not impressed by the trailer but gave it a try anyway. I like it so far. Both couples are really cute. CF did a good job building them up.
Hope the main couple get a happy ending. I really like that they are open, non-judgemental and gradually fell for each other and not the typical love at first sight or the loner with a crush on the popular/extroverted person that we typically see in teen dramas. They're ok tropes, but just overused at this point.
Change has great eye for casting. Very promising cast here.

8.5/10 for me

I personally like this one, because the main couple are very honest & are nonjudgmental towards each other from the start, which I find refreshing.
