Currently on ep 7 and I still find it a bit boring and draggy. But at least the action scenes are good. And why is the 2nd FL always so freaking annoying? Get a hint girl--- he doesn't want you. EESH. I hate these no self-respect characters.
ep 12. I see why JS didn't grow up. His parents adore him and for that reason they sheltered and spoiled him too much. Hence why he grew up with the mind of a child. But now life is forcing him to grow up. Yuru's mom gets on my nerves but at least she made the right decision in the end. Luo Zi Shang's past is revealed more. Still don't completely understand why he seemingly hate's the Gu family so much since I don't think they had anything to do with what happened in his past. Is it jealousy of their prestige & wealth? Or is he doing all this for YR? hmm.
It's damn slow and boring if you used to love watching action-packed, fast-paced wuxia dramas. It is the same…
This isn't a wuxia so logically it's not going to be as fast paced as a wuxia. It's a slice of life, romance, business story with a side of political intrigue but that's not the focus here. It's more of a character piece if you are comparing it to wuxia. As for their relationship I love that they have no conflict and the conflict that do have they face together. These are the couples I love, Tired of the unhealthy ones.
ep 9. JX has been thru so much and yet there's still so much mystery surrounding him. I want to know who Jiang Ying is. She seems so pushy must be related to him some how or something. Guess I'll find out in the upcoming episodes. I feel the development of feelings too.
episode 11 was really good :). Love Jiusi's smarts and the way he defeated the madam just with his brain. Jiusi and Yuru are more in tune than they realize. I love the pace of how they are falling in love with each other. Also adoring the relationship between, Jiusi, Yuru and Zhou. I need Zhou to live thru this story tho. And I think YR doesn't regret marrying JS anymore. As childish as he is at times, he's perfect for her esp now that he's changing into a better version of himself.
I am SO glad that they didn't drag out the whole her not knowing: "He's a vampire." trope for more than half the series like they did on Kokdu ugh. I was getting annoyed this episode when she didn't believe he wasn't human. Granted that's very hard to believe. Still she saw how not normal he was, and her first meeting with him was in a coffin. I mean c'mon! At least she knows he was telling the truth by the end of episode 2. PHEW. Now I can relax and enjoy this drama better. I'm intrigued with her not being a regular human means. I woder if it's because she's reincarnated because een with the preview for next episode, I don't believe she's a vampire. She's probably just his intended soulmate that came to find him, like she said she would. Which makes me wonder if she'll get any memories of her past life in future eps.... hmm.
Ep 8. Her putting all the gifts away and cutting all contact with Jiaxu after he broke her heart. Yep... bee there done that... haha. I guess I'm relating heavily on this drama because I have similar experiences in my teen years. I think most of us do. Anyway their reunion was good and their chemsitry is so good too. Lusi knows how to make chemistry with her costars. I loved her with Ryan Ding on The Romance of Tiger and Rose and I'm loving her with CZY too.
Hmm I don't think this series is 10 episodes. The story is becoming way too complicated for that number of eps. Unless everything gets resolved in the next two episodes then it's longer. Plus, no new trailer dropped today that is also a sign. We will see.
on ep 10 and the fall of the Gu family begins. Jiusi was doing so well but he had to put his foot in it lol. He's probably gonna regress at times because change doesn't happen overnight but he's definitely changed for the better. I love the relationship between the Gu family, it's so pure and they love each other so much. Nice to see a family relationship like this in Chinese Drama.
This got deep all of a sudden, Well, well Arthrit isn't the goodie, goodie he pretends to be or a good brother to Than either. I guess Meena brought out that nasty jealousy he's always felt for Than. Meena needs to come clean soon because I see that she's becoming unlikable to the audience......
Good start. Loved the scenes in the past. But please tell me her not knowing that he's a vampire is gonna drag on forever because that really put me off both Kokdu & The Heavenly Idol.
aww man, that first heartbreak at 17/18 years old. hurts so much. So relatable and Lusi is so good! This is why she's my favorite Chinese actress. Men smh. ...... Jiaxu really didn't understand what she was saying with returning the teddy bear did he? LOL.
Juisi, juisi, Juisi..... his character development in episode 9 was so good. He is really growing up! so proud of him! And he really has fallen for Yuru. I love him as much as I loved Shaodian Youqin on TSL. Both are amazing ML's and such greenflags too. Their love for the FL's make them such good characters. Episode 9 was intense from the opening scene of Juisi defending his wife to the self- whipping scene! I'm in awe of the writing on Destined. And from what I've seen from spoilers it's only going to get even more intense from here on out. I'm defiitely putting Destined in my top dramas of 2023, right behind The Starry Love.
