My impression is that he was also a reincarnation just like the FL is, he just didn’t remember. Then the original guard’s spirit took over which he doesn’t seem to remember her either or he knows that’s a reincarnation of her. Cuz why would the professor have that ring? Unless Kouduk was able to take over his body temporarily from time to time. Until the professors death when it happened 100%. Confusing but that’s my theory that the professor was a reincarnation and that ring has stayed with him thru lifetimes, one way or another.

Same here :). I also thought I had recognized the actor from Alchemy of Souls but wasn't sure. Checked his MDL profile & yep he was also in AoS.

Interesting that Do Jin Woo seems to have been a reincarnation of Kokdu just by his looks just like Han Gyeol is. I oriignally thought that he was gonna take over someone else's body but no he takes over one of his original/reicarnation bodies once DJW dies. Also the whole mystery of the head honcho doctor is intriguing. Seems like his evilness, has followed them thru all their lifetimes too. Btw the early sets/ first life reminded me of Alchemy of Souls. HG is annoying I liked her first personality more but if she becomes stronger later on that would be great. So far gonna continue with this drama because I really liked the first episode.

I really enjoyed episode one. I'm iffy on the lead actress but so far the story has a hold on me. And KJH is an excellent actor. Already like him a lot. Yes, first time watching him but he already won me over with one episode LOL.

So glad this is over 2/10.

If this really turns out to be 40 mins and ep. Wow! South Korea is taking a huge step forward and I couldn't be happier. Almost at the episode length of their MF dramas.

Seriously I love Tinn and Gun so freaking much. They put many of the other Bl couples to shame. looking at you Kuea and Lian(Cutie Pie) lol. Anyways, this series is so special, the writers did such an awesome job here: the characters, the plot, the writing, the couples, the friendship, the acting, everything..... I can't find fault with MSP at all and to think when I saw the trailer I wasn't gonna watch because it didn't appeal to me. But, I'm glad that I did because now it's one of my top favorites. It's such a gem.

She definitely did it to protect SangSu but also to protect herself too from any hurt she may think bein in love will bring her(the sandcastle anology). She put herself in a big mess either way. She really is damaged :(.
While in the novel, apparently, she does it for selfish/revenge reasons from what I've seen to get back at JH for cheating on her. Here they gave her more of a reason to do what she did if she did end up sleeping with KP, while wrong her reasoning is more understandable than in the novel and I guess sympathetic.

In the book apparently none of these people end up together. But from what I heard and saw of spoilers it seems like SuYoungs motives for sleeping with Kyelpil were to get back at JH for cheating on her. SS finds out and walks away. Here tho, if she did sleep with KP she did it as a plan to break up with JH and to push SS away for whatever reason. So I wonder if her motives were changed will the ending be too? Have to wait and see.

and probably to protect their families from drug dealers. If she had any inkling of what really happened she would have put the police on high alert to which drug kingpin did that. Audience saw what happened to her mother for threatening that drug dealer.......... That family would have probably targeted her family and Mai's.

SuYeong is such a lost and broken soul that she'd rather destroy the sandcastle than have anyone else destroy it. The lenghts she wet thru to protect herself because really I think she did it more for herself than for SangSu. Protecting her heart is more important to her than anything that might happen to him, but if she can protect him by shutting him out too well then she gets to kill two birds with one stone. Whether she slept with KP or not it doesn't matter anymore the damage is done. Although it seems like SS may not be ready to give up on her just yet from the preview. Also I don't think SY did this to break up with JeongHyun(or it wored for her plan too) but couldn't she just tell him she wasn't into him? I guess not sigh.
As to who is more pathetic MG or JH? I'm gonna go with JH because he's not happy, but wants that relationship obsessively. Could it just be for a roof over his head? hmmm. He seems to have feelings for that student partner yet stays with someone who makes him unhappy and that he knows doesn't love him...... ummmm ok then. Not that MG isn't equally as pathetic and while I highly disliked her this episode, get a life girl! I still can't help feeling sorry or her. No matter how much she annoyed me in 12.
SY is definitely gonna regret this decision. The writers seem to have changed her motives about what she did with KyengPil(or not?) from what I've heard of the novel. I wonder why either to make her more sympathetic or to give her a 1% shot of happiness with SS that doesn't end like the novel. Tho I still think no one will end up together regardless, I'm intrigued to why they changed SuYeon's motives from the book.

Seems like this ep was messy! can't wait to watch.

Man, this episode! One thing that it teaches is that hate never leads anywhere. Also, wtf with Kongkwan's father for a minute I wanted him to get the same violence he was inflicting. But that wouldn't have led anywhere, and he was in a lot of pain. Still, I don't like him or any of the adults. But this may actually make them grow up and realize all their mistakes.

This is how I feel. I felt that scene where she told him it's her birthday.

That's what I think too that he's staying in this relationship because it sorta gives him a free ride and a place to sleep in til he can afford his own place. If he's not cheating then he's fallen for that study partner because he's acting pretty much like he did with SY at first.
As for MG IA she's trying to hard and it's better for her to let go maybe she will. She deserves better than someone who was using her to get over a failed love.

This episode left me with lots of conflicting emotions. The most important one is that I didn't react to Mi-Gyoung like many on here did. I don't despise her and this episode didn't make me do it either. SangSu was the one that put all 3 of them in the situation in the first place. I don't get why he didn't just break up with her if he doesn't love her? Why enter into a relationship with her in the firs t place? ok. I know that he was trying to make it work but after months of trying and seeing that his feelings for SeoYeoung weren't going away he should have just ended it. But no, he kept leading MG on for no reason. Even leaving SY out of the equation, once MiGeoung bought him that car without his consent and made him upset that should have been his signal to end it, yet he didn't why? I'm not sure if he would have ended it had she not pushed that birthday dinner(confrontation). What he told GilPyeong made it seem like he wasn't. It's not til he was pushed to the limit where he finally decided to end it.
Now, I'm not saying that MiGyeoug is perfect, that she isn't flawed and manipulative because she is. She was definitely manipulating things in her favor ep 11. And she's done it many times before and with money too. Yet, I still understand her. May change later tho ,if she's turned to a complete villain. But it seems like next episode will have both SS and MG reach an understanding.
As for SeoYoung seems like she'll stay in a relationship that she doesn't want anymore for unknown reasons. I hope that preoew is misleading because if it's not then I really don't get SY's way of thinking in this case. It's also obviuous that JongHyeon is cheating. Why he's also staying in this relationship? Beats me. Maybe it's because he gets a free home or not. He doesn't seem passionaely in love with SY either but we will see.
This drama is filled with complicated, human characters that are all relatable and hateable at the same time. Compared to Alchemy of Souls(which I adore by the way) where all the characters are clear cut as heroes and villains and where the sorta SFL(Doctor Lady) is so easy to hate while not really doing anything, in Interest of Love all the characters are harder to put in cardboard cut out boxes and I like that.

Many hate sfl but I don't. Is she annoying? yes but I feel for her. I don't see her buying everyone presents as a bad thing when you look at it closely that's all she knows. That's how her parents raised her, so she thinks showing people she cares and likes them is thru buying them things. Shallow? yup but it's how she grew up. Now, is her paranoid behavior, right? no but I understand it she was cheated on or believes that she was before. With SS keeping secrets from her and now cheating on her too no wonder she's lost her sense of reality. Do I wish she got a sense of worth and walked away? Yep, but when one is in love it's hard to think clearly. I hope in the end she's strong enough to see that she deserves better and dumps his *ss. One thing I love about this drama is how complex and human all the characters are.
