I wonder if they'll repeat them. I've noticed than when a pairing is a hit like Ao Rui Peng and Bai Lu are being they usually repeat them, but it takes years. Agreed Lament of the River Immortal gives me TTEOM vibes like it will be that level of angst. Maybe they should have released that one first so we could have a pallet cleanser with MM later on. Although since MM was filmed first it had to go first. I don't know if I'll watch that one, I don't like heavy angst dramas. Hence why I only saw some of TTEOM.
I'm glad Chong Zhao finally grew up and let Bai Shou go. Now I can let go of my hatred for him haha. But when did he start falling for FL? Honestly that came out of nowhere. Or did I miss it? He's been so obsessed over BS and now he has feelings or is starting to have feelings for Fu Ling? Maybe he's meant to parallel Tianqi's ALP story. I don't like her, but I can see why people feel sorry for her. She also has a tragic story but seeing what she's going to do to BS tomorrow makes me dislike her even more. NOW if the writers give me a good story of redemption on her maybe I can change my mind. Have to wait and see.
The difference between RX and Fu Ling is that RX was completely controlled by some powerful magic. We saw it happen onscreen. He had no control over his actions. When he woke up from the enchantment it was too late. Kunlun sect was NOT innocent. They were just trash Eternals. Now Fuling oth, yes, she grew up in a violent environment with her memories probably erased. BUT her actions are her CHOICES. No one controls her to be cruel or psychotic. She enjoys doing these things, we've seen this every time she commits an atrocious act. she enjoys killing or causing chaos. That is the difference between RX and FL. She's irredeemable in my eyes, but I'm just going to have to accept that the writers are going to redeem her eventually.
On another note iIlove how Bai Shou's hair ornaments/hair piece for ep 21(preview) match the colors and jewels on Fan Yue's robe. It's the little touches. <3.

Guardians of the Dafang fan here. I love it it's quite a wholesome drama. Word of caution though if you love strictly romance dramas: romance is secondary. It's very male orientated but worth it. The leads have a lot of chemistry so moments they share are also worth it.
One of the best parts of GoTD is Xuquian's relationship with both his family and Lord Wei. Both are so precious, and you can feel how deeply he is loved by them. I feel so bad for Lian- she's going to find out the worst way that he's leaving. No wonder her desperation in the preview for tomorrow.
