I was planning to watch this drama but from comments it's a cliffhanger ending and that can be frustrating. That said.. would you advise to just watch it does look interesting or just wait till there's news of season 2. Let me know, tks.
I'm enjoying this a lot more than Eternal Love, though watching that one first has made me appreciate this one much more.
I feel the characters here are less annoying (esp lead female) and the story is a little more solid there's more going on than back & forth romance and melodrama.
Also it was unexpected to find such funny scenes later in the drama made me crack up so much it's kinda rare in these longer dramas.
This drama did so well and this current rating here shows we have a beautiful drama watching community. It was deserved, the whole story & production was just so good the 50 episodes didn't feel like too much. Well done to everyone involved it was amazing.
This is one of rare times I've preferred a bl series over the novel. It's still a good production nonetheless. The novel was hard to stomach I don't understand how people are ok with romanticising abuse fiction or not.
This is a pretty good series. Bl is not the main story here obviously which is why I'm a little surprised at the people who are disappointed. It is present for sure and has an intriguing conclusion but if you're here to watch a well written and acted series by some of the actors who've been in bl roles you won't be disappointed.
They're just as good acting different roles here but I guess if one is focused on bl then it's understandable but your loss. It is a touching series nonetheless worth watching for sure.
Unpopular opinion...i just can't seem to like the drama. The GCI is so cheap that it makes me cringe. And whyyy,…
In the novel the story jumps between past and present. I find the way it's done in the drama is easier to follow the story no break in timeline. Plus some of the the details in the novel would've been a bit much for a show that's trying to break through barriers. They had to change a few things but the meanings remained the same.
I wonder if you read the whole novel when you talk about gay scenes. Because that's where it's most descriptive from halfway through and even more so towards end chapters. I think you confused this with another book.
PS; CGI may not be perfect but it's not terrible either. It matters little, the drama shine anyway.
The many many careless stupid things in this drama (dunno about the novel) made my rating lower and lower as I watched. And the constantly constipated look of Xing Peng's character Guo Gang Cheng through out he series. I turned away eventually when he came on couldn't bear looking at him. So annoying.
Zhu Yi Long tried keeping a little better to his novel character, his counterpart not so much. I don't know if it was the director or whatever happened, this should have been a much better production.
This drama was pretty awesome in it's own way. The actors did an amazing job no matter their ages and as much as it's in a bl genre (bromance on series) it surely made it's mark.
Not everything can be perfect but one thing for sure it's pretty well done visually, writing and the story makes you want to keep watching. I def sacrificed some sleep binge watching lol. I've found the original novel, story is slightly different but just as good it's like re-watching from another perspective.
First half was good but the second part or halfway was just weird to say the least. The story was moving too fast and things happen inexplicably things come out of nowhere. I had to look around and make sure I didn't miss something. Almost like script and director were different from first half.
I re-watch this sometimes cz the music is just so good I like how they pay attention to that it's beautiful. Plus the characters do develop and improve as the drama goes on.
People might be comparing this one with the others too much and I get it after watching a bit of ep 1. It gets really good as it goes on I think the actors did a great job expressing the characters feelings. It really impressed me by the end, I'm glad I ignored the negative comments.

C-Dramas a little too fond of cliffhangers lol
