Yes, the new Royal Nirvana Special is on my list but haven't had a chance to watch it because there are so many new episodes for the ones I'm following. Royal Nirvana is a heavy watch. I need all the concentration and mental preparation. Right now, The Promise of Chang'an is heavy enough :) Are you also watching that series (Royal Nirvana)?

Yes, bad directing, sucking it up etc - all possible. But the way I interpret her after the night in the morning is, she seems light hearted. If she has had slept with the Emperor, I think she would look lost, not focusing etc, but she doesn't. So I don't think they have slept together. Also, the abrupt cut of the scene (on her birthday night) is also intentional - something must have happened at that point. My strongest guess is, Wanyin makes an emergency call to get the Emperor back to her court.

Don't worry. All this is good because Wanyin now takes away the Emperor's attention. It's good not only for Mingyu, but also for Chengxu. Now Chengxu is letting out rumors about the Emperor's behavior, about the likely crown prince etc. He's rallying his supporters and setting up his base while the Emperor is still on the cloud. Mingyu hides herself away. Both are patient and quietly waiting for the right time. So people, this is going to be good and will end good.

Seeing how Mingyu looks in the morning, she's not upset at all. So I'm pretty sure they have not slept together. The Emperor is not upset either, that means he's not been rejected by Mingyu. So my conclusion is, the Emperor is being called away and I believe it's Wanyin who has made that emergency call, knowing she's so possessive of the Emperor and would never let him touch Mingyu for fearing of Mingyu gaining status. This is really good news.

You mean the introduction of Mingyu's sister, Helan Wanyin? I have been expecting her to reappear here. For me, it's great news because she takes away the pressure by the Emperor from Mingyu (she doesn't need to serve the Emperor anymore). Also she has produced a son whom I think would be the child mentioned in the synopsis. If he's not Mingyu's son, I think Chengxu will not hesitate to kill and succeed the throne himself. Despite the harem feeling sorry (well, kind of) for Mingyu, we can see Mingyu is actually very pleased to be banished; she just wants to get away from the Emperor.

I doubt she sleeps with him because she isn't upset in the morning at all (unless it's bad acting or poor editing). Even if she has, I don't think Chengxu cares anymore because their love for each other is beyond the bodily stuff already.

For many Chinese Emperors, they did marry their sister-in-law. It's rather common. Knowing Chengxu, I don't think he cares what the officials say because he's already the Emperor - no one can touch him.

Yes, this is my favorite series of all currently airing dramas. It's so cute and the romance is so sweet. The misunderstanding between the couple doesn't last long. The ML is protective and persistent. The humor is just adorable. Love it.

I hope the story doesn't follow the Kangxi storyline as wiki is purportedly indicating. If the writers alter the ending, we may just have a very satisfying HEA.

We know that Xiao Chengxu is setting up to overthrow the Emperor. He has to succeed because he has to get his justice and he's the hero here. From the inside, Helan Mingyu's sister has a baby. Given her sister's awful personality, she's going to perish pretty soon. If Mingyu hasn't had a baby of her own, she'd take her sister's baby in when she's gone. Together with Chengxu, they can maneuver and become very powerful that no one can hurt them anymore.
