Like you, I like the leads in both dramas. At first I thought the ML in Fake Princess wasn't that special, but then as the drama progresses, I find him so silly and so funny. With his look (not that breathtakingly good looking like others) , he looks almost adorable. It's that straight face kind of look, but continually acting silly, that makes me laughing, falling off my couch. I think I'm beginning falling in love with him XD

The OSTs - yes, I've never come across a drama that says so much in the OSTs that they can't do it on screen for avoiding the censorship threshold.

Yes, I totally agree with @MusicalVeggies and @CqlisMdzs. We should have a bigger heart, and refrain from herd mentality which is the most dangerous thing in any situation. We need to learn to agree to disagree. As the phrase goes, one man's trash is another man's treasure.

MDL provides us a wonderful platform to share our opinions. And sharing opinions is the most wonderful experience in life. Whether you like an opinion that is opposing to yours or not, it opens up our eyes to the world. We learn to empathize.

Some of the criticisms towards this drama are not invalid because different viewers have different criteria in assessing it. For example, many viewers give low ratings for tragic ending stories but it doesn't mean the dramas are not good.

We must learn from Xiao Zhan's recent crisis; being over zealous can ruin precisely the thing or person we love and try to protect.

This series is so darn funny! Love it!

I love those debates in the royal court, though they are mostly over trivial matters (in our eyes). I love seeing how the Emperor suppresses his temper (yeah, without chopping off the ministers' heads), and how frequently he also suppresses a yawn, or an amused look. He just let those people vent it out, then he'd say, "Let's pack it up, I'm tired," rendering the ministers looking to and fro at each other, befuddled.

I dislike Consort Zhang in the beginning, but then later on, I felt she's such a pitiful woman; there's no hope in a life like that. And for Huirou, I know I would have acted exactly as she does if I were to live in that period. I know, like her, I would have died young too because I cannot stand to live a life like that.

Wow! Thanks for your compliment. Most people I encounter here don't seem to like this drama very much and it reflects on its rating. It's such a pity because I truly think this is a beautiful drama, so realistic - perhaps that's the reason people don't like it. Anyway, I feel you should write your review to support the drama. Yes, it has a lot of politics. Both MLs are intelligent strategists. Ying Yi Ren (Mao Zi Jun) is a hidden dragon. Fantastic production. A lot of bitching around in the harem though.
