Before the rooftop scene, he made a game for her to play and called her "You fool" with a pig when she failed. So, yeah, he had already liked her then, to make her a game. He also planted a virus in her computer, calling her "Silly", all these before the rooftop scene. Whether he fell for her at her 17th birthday, she gave him a very deep impression, especially when she game him the umbrella.

They broke up at the end of episode 22, and separated for 3 years. Then they met again in episode 24. Though they claimed to be "normal" friends later, viewers can feel "love is in the air". They eventually let down their barrier and declared couple in episode 35. It's a happy ending, you'll love it :D

Tian Xiuzhu to her is like a big brother; they have known each other since childhood. As for Tian Xiuzhu, to me, he also acts like a big brother to her, trying to protect her. I believe, though he is also fond of her, it is not the romantic type. Both their families urge them to get married, so it's more like an obligation for Tian Xiuzhu.

ZY reads LX like a book. She believes in him whole heartedly, but at the same time, she doesn't believe a word he says when it is out of character. Sometimes, she gets upset by his words (who doesn't because he can be so mean), but after she reflects on his words, she can pull herself together again and treat his words as air.

To me, LX started to have feelings for ZY from the first time he saw ZY in her birthday party when he went to her house to plea with her mom. She looked like a princess to him, high above all, innocent, happy, protected. She later came out to give him the umbrella, showing her compassion for a stranger. I believe from that time, LX had already been a secret admirer.

Many Chinese parents are like this, so don't hate them :)

Yes and no. Her mother has wanted her to date/marry Tian Xiuzhu the artist. She has never said no either. I think her method to avoid confrontation is, "don't say no or yes". So with Li Xun, she doesn't owe him anything now, not even an explanation. If she tells him she and artist are not dating, Li Xun would say, "why tell me? I don't care!" So it's best to say nothing, just let him guess. :D
