I like Xu Kaicheng and his character. He tries to be serious but he can't. With Zhao Lusi around, who can? XD The conversations are comedic. Though not totally unique and similar to Zhao Lusi's other rom-com, this drama is entertaining if you want something to give you a good mood and something to laugh about. Don't be too critical and don't take it too seriously. It's not meant to be serious :) Acting wise, both main leads are good. The supporting is good too (super hilarious).
Just watched 2 episodes. It's watchable. Zhao Lusi is still the "Sha Bai Tian" (Silly, Fair and Sweet) Zhao Lusi, but this time, she's also brave, smart and chivalrous. Love her character and love the ML. Great watch!

If it's not women empowering, is it degrading women? I hate dramas that degrade women. Sometimes Zhao Lusi's cuteness and silliness do exactly that. Trying to decide to watch or not to watch.

Viewers should not watch AvenueX's review first because you may drop this fine drama upon her advice which may not necessarily be fair. Though everything defies logic, it is entertaining and meant to be so if viewers notice the fine details as in its accompanying music. On the surface, everything seems serious, but beneath, it's meant to be hilarious, hence the exaggerated actions and scenes. Therefore, if viewers watch this drama without being critical, you would really enjoy it. Forget about mental peace. For once, just relax and enjoy :)
The ML is not harsh, but can be easily embarrassed. He's cold to all opposite sex, except to our FL. Still, he hides all his emotions, like most Chinese men do :)

Wow! I haven't read the novel and is ignorant of the FL character. I know this drama is defying logic, and I'm also watching it for Peng Xiaoran, but I didn't realize she is supposed to be an even more intriguing character in the novel. Thanks for this info :)
