I share your view on the "angular" face and it feels like DW's facial feature is ... harder? Sure, Ning Que is supposedly older, more mature and experienced in Season 2. But I want to feel there is familiarity in him, and in that extent, the actor that plays him. Right now I can't see it in DW (IF it will be him indeed), although it may change with the director's expertise. Oh well. *shrug*

I agree with you. I don't find her taking advantage of people, incl. NQ, to advance her cause all that repulsive, because that is to be expected from the ruling family. What I'm not really fond of is her impulsiveness. I read somewhere that the character in the book is a lot wiser. If that were the case, I hope the scriptwriters changed it a little bit to show her growth.

With regard to her brother, I wrote downthread that she's not blindsided by her sisterly love, but she wants to ensure her brother will get the throne. She's definitely suspicious of the queen and will do everything so the queen's son won't be the next king.

I don't think she's blinded by her love for her brother. More likely because in the Tang Kingdom, heir apparent should be males only. So she wants to make sure her biological brother will ascend to throne, rather than the queen's son.

Some questions:

- Why didn't the fact that Sang Sang easily climb the mountain alarm 2nd Brother & Chen Pipi? Yes, 2nd Bro was surprised, but it doesn't concern him further.

- How did the nameless priest know that the bell will weaken Ning Que? (ep 23). Did he just figure it out based on observing Ning Que after NQ's banter w/ Long Qing & him getting accepted into the 2nd Floor?

- In the previous episodes, it was hinted that the King knows that the Empress and General Xia Hou are from the Demon Sect. Will it be revealed later why and how they came into the Tang royal family?

- While Chong Ming suspects that Long Qing is eyeing the Yan throne for himself, it looks to me LQ isn't that interested in it. His ambition exceeds one small Kingdom, he probably wants to conquer the whole world through Xiling. Am I guessing it right?

I haven't got to that part! But I hope by the end of Season 1, they will be reunited :(

The reason given is conflicting schedule. Some says because he's signed for another drama. But he has started filming for this other drama & IIRC they expect to finish it this December. I'm inclined towards him having to finish school. If the latter is the case, more power to him. Education is important!

This said, I agree that it will be a challenge for the new Ning Que. Chen Feiyu isn't the best actor out there, he's definitely still very green, but his portrayal somehow fits the vibe of the drama. And I haven't read book fans bashing him (or perhaps I've missed that, LOL), so I suppose he got it right. The fact that he's a newbie also helps, since people didn't expect much from him. IMO it will be better for the production team to cast another newbie or someone with experience but lesser known for Ning Que, as long as he fits the character.

Just read on Ever Night's weibo that the drama just won a Best Weekly Web Drama award. Anyone knows the official name? (As I was just using Google translate, tee hee). Anyway, congrats to the production team!

I agree that she's been quite mean and disrespectful to Mu Le (as a human being). But Mu Le FORCEFULLY kissing her isn't acceptable either.

I guess they have been saying that exactly because of things you have mentioned here: the logo on servants' uniform LOL.

Urgghh... I hate that! Although Ever Night is a fantasy drama, such things are really a stretch!X( People have been talking about product placement on Twitter and I tend to agree.

I can still dismiss it, since I like the rest of the story so far, but I hope we won't see it again. I'll blur it my mind LOL.

The notes and arrangement are unique they caught my attention on first listening -- but it's the lyrics that keep me hooked :))))

Anyone here also likes the "Killing" song? LOL. I looked up the Ever Night soundtrack list, it's titled "Take Your Life (取你的命)".

I like pretty much all songs in the drama , but this one kind of stands out for me. The lyrics are about taking out someone's life, but the music arrangement makes it sound like a traditional children's song, including bird chirps and all :))))

If it were true, I don't understand why the producers didn't sign the main cast for 2 seasons (or is it 3 seasons?). But as they've already started filming Season 2, I doubt that the so-called replacement has taken place.

Me neither. She fell in love with him after giving mouth-to-mouth resuscitation. Maybe he has very nice minty breath, and that's just her type :p. Anyway, she doesn't just love him as the person he is -- she loves how he loves Yuan An and she wants that.
