Not sure why his job is translated as a "judge", while actually it's a prosecutor. The title "Out of Court" looks like referring to the way the character does his job in unconventional ways

While the original story does sound stronger (as Xing Fu also sounds more powerful), I actually don't have the problems with the changes. I'm in the minority here, that I actually don't mind Xingfu staying w/ her husband. Honestly, he's much better than a lot of MLs in Cdramas, who are often abusive but will be redeemed in the end. The new script allows for for a character growth of Qinglai, in which he finally supports Xingfu and contributes to the society.

Since you're asking for costume/period drama, in addition to those already suggested, will also recommend:

Secretary Wan said since Xiuyu has left school for years, she'd never be able to attend university. Is it really the case? Or was he referring to PUBLIC university? I can understand, as IIRC public universities often require minimum or maximum age to attend. But I guess private university should be more flex, no?

I'm probably in the minority, but I LOVE the final episodes! Will write more in spoiler in elaborating my thoughts on them.

Great article, and thank you for doing the research and writing this. If I may suggest, perhaps you can also add the Republican period dramas. I know some may find them quite propagandish, but I think they are quite unique as they often portray spies and such, the struggle or life during foreign invasion (my personal recommendations will be The Battle of Changsha, Sparrow, and the less known The Great Protector). But there is also the likes of Wuxin The Monster Killer (fantasy) and of course My Roommate is A Detective.

I'm in the minority, but I actually like WXS's hair! Be it ponytail, half ponytail, or braided? (looks like it now). From the previews, he'll have the half ponytail and I think it suits him. But I also think this style suits a lot of males. (I'm not too keen on male buns though).

SMZ's hair is prolly the best because it's Baron Chen's real hair. On the other hand, BCF's style now is tragic :(
