I beg to differ, because that's not what I got from watching the episodes.

I notice the similar set up with various Condor Trilogy, but I can't tell if it's the drama writers' own creativity, or that's exactly how LYS wrote it. I agree that script could've been much better, though I'm still enjoying it a lot nonetheless :)

Up to ep 22, and I'm still enjoying the show very much. Real locations, great cinematography, cool fighting scenes, and engaging plot. Some of the villains annoy me, but they don't take up too much screen time, so I'm okay with that. The main OTP is very cute, in a way that they clearly care about each other but not too lovey dovey, playful, which to me is very appropriate for both their character's age and the wuxia vibe. I love the brotherhood AND the sisterhood too!

Yujing gets on my nerves in the earlier episodes, but his journey shapes him and I love seeing his character growth. Also, he and Qiao'er are very cute.

No, I really meant ep 3 and 4. Yes, his parents scenes. Oh and also when teen Yujing appears for the first time. There were several dialogues that I found a bit awkward, so I'm guessing there was some sloppy editing going in, which hopefully won't occur again in the upcoming episodes.

And yes, I also meant the English sub isn't the best (I suspect some of them were machine translated lol), it affects my enjoyment a tiny bit. But I appreciate the attempt to provide subs readily, in several languages!

I'm the opposite. I didn't like ep 3 & 4 because I felt like they were choppily edited. The subpar subbing also adds to that, making the dialogs and the flow a little disjointed, and maybe it was due to the final editing. However the drama does get better further down the road and I hope it continues to do so. My highlight is of course Yu Jing's traveling to Shaolin with Dongfang Liang and Qiao'er -- love the camaraderie! I'm liking Yu Jing-Dongfang Liang's brotherhood very much. The ending credit shows the two of them dueling, so I need to mentally prepare for their bond to be broken *sigh*.

Yeah, he was annoying in the first few episodes, and IMO he's got a little too much leniency for a martial student. But I'm up to ep 10, and I can see the start of character growth.

I remember the last time I looked, it was 4 or 5 users, rating was fluctuating around 7 & 8 something. Then... boom! 14 users, rating dropped. While personally MDL rating doesn't affect me, I think it might give a misconception abt the drama's quality which may sway potential viewers away. It has its flaws, but it's far, far from being a bad one as reflected in the current rating.

We must've watched different dramas with the same title! The main cast dubbed themselves. And as many cliche tropes it uses, the leads chemistry and their comfort around each other are actually the drama's strong points.
