I think it's (intentionally) ambiguous. It was never shown that he dies. He says it's the end for him in jiang hu. But we can also interpret it as he continues to live on not as a martial fighter -- perhaps as a commoner?
I'm curious what drama everyone will be watching after this?
Apart from this show, I'm also watching A Dream of Splendor and rewatching Three Heroes and Five Gallants (with a lot of FFs, only watch the scenes with Yan Kuan & Chen Xiao).

It is not just me. It IS categorized as an historical idol drama, esp by Cnetz. If you follow the drama vlogger AvenueX, she also calls it an idol drama.

An "idol" drama doesn't necessarily mean it stars idols or other high traffic actors/celebs (though that's often the case). But more about the main cast are famous because of their beauty and not their acting skills, and romance-centric. Usually they feature younger actors and are targeted towards younger audience, but it's not always the case.

I'm actually quite happy with this rating, Douban raters are quite stingy and strict, especially about their own production. ADOS is indeed a phenomenon, but many netizens also complained of the "inflated" rating. (Though there's explanation that people are very happy that finally there's a decent idol historical drama, after being swamped with the bad ones for years).
Thoughts on today’s episodes:Glad to be proven right about who the perp was in the incident. These episodes…
I've always thought FYK is a strong fighter who covers his martial skills with acting as a flamboyant no-good looser. I don't know though if the Chancellor knows about it.
Why can’t the main leads be more interesting like SMZ, DJF and FYK? Up to eps 20 - WXS is still this clueless…
I'm watching and liking both dramas for different reasons, but imo Gu Qianfang isn't that more complex compared to the male characters in Heroes. In fact, he's more of a typical ML in historical AND modern dramas, being portrayed as almost perfect with noble background, great career, highly intelligent, who's whipped by a woman of a lesser status, because of her beauty and intellect :). Again in my opinion, it's basically because Chen Xiao is a brilliant actor with expressive eyes and effective use of subtle acting -- as well as his sizzling chemistry with Liu Yifei :)
Is there really a lot of criticism towards that scene by Cnetz? Personally although it bugs me, I think it's quite realistic and it doesn't necessarily affect my view of the whole drama.
The scene between SMZ and LC broke my heart!!
