When I rate a movie or a drama with 7, it's something that I liked.I don't think that it's a bad system, it's…
for me, a 7 is something I liked but have mixed feelings about. I also don't think it's a bad system as to me it's quite helpful if I want to rewatch something. If you don't trust the ratings (like me), you still have the reviews and comments as a reference.
Considering how low Japanese dramas are rated on this site, I almost never look at the rating before watching…
I mostly choose something new based on synopsis and reviews. If I want to rewatch a drama, I like to sort my completed shows based on the ratings *I* gave it because I know my own standards for a show whereas I don't for other people.
OH.. Zhang Ri Shan is different in this show... IN Sand Sea, Mystic Nine, Ultimate note. Zhang Ri shan is the…
Yeah, that's really going to be weird... I'm so used to seeing Zhang Ming'en in this role, it's going to feel wrong. Especially because it's only a movie, it took about 4 episodes for me each time in the other shows to get used to the new faces... Whatever, let's see how it turns out :)
Me when Lay appeared: "Wait, didn't Er Yuehong (if that was the name, I mean his character in Mystic Nine) already die???" Me just a bit later: "Master??? Don't tell me they let Lay act the 'pupil' of his prevvious character..." Apparently that's the case. Hell, was I confused for the first few seconds.
Thank you for the warning about not starting with Tomb of the Sea, although it was too late for me. I definitely agree that understanding the connections and the background stuff was quite difficult, so I was pretty much constantly searching for the information I was missing out on (enough so I decided to watch at least The Mystic Nine). I'm now hooked into that whole world and salty about not being able to continue with Heavenly Palace or whatever the name is, but hey, I might be able to understand Tomb of the Sea now the next time I'm rewatching XD
I personally don't drop dramas except if it's really boring and after a lot of consideration. The only drama I really have dropped for good is actually a sequel of another one and honestly, I wanted to drop it at the first episode. I somehow made it to the end of the tenth and then I just decided that I couldn't bear watching another 26 episodes like that and put it on my dropped list. However, this happens very rarely for me, usually, if I'm not in the mood for something, I first put it on hold and finish watching it a month later (might even become months but I'm not on MDL for long enough yet) or I start skipping some seconds or even whole scenes. So I wouldn't say I really suffer from the ABSOLUTELY NEVER DROP DISEASE but more from an IT REALLY TAKES A LOT FOR ME TO DROP DISEASE. No idea if there's a better term for it but whatever. I still am taking the blue badge because I have a bad feeling that it will get worse...
