It's revealed that's she's Fang Zhou's sister. She thought TLC killed her brother so she let Ghost Peony wipe her memories and became a spy for him. She never betrays TLC though. Even when she recovers her memories she helps TLC escape from Ghost Peony. Then she writes a farewell letter to him and says they should never meet again in this life. I think the main reason she doesn't want to stay by his side is because she is dying. She has a heart disease that was suppressed with a divine stone but she used the divine stone to save TLC.
I was upset that was their ending but after thinking about it, I think it makes sense for them. I'm sad he never knew she had a heart disease and would die without the divine stone. She is self sacrificing and wouldn't want him to know though because she doesn't want him to worry nor would she want him to be distracted when he has the world to save. I also think those two don't know how to face each other yet (with her actually being a spy, with him indirectly killing Fang Zhou). Maybe with time they could have figured things out but time wasn't on their side as she would die soon and he had a battle to fight which ultimately lead to his sacrifice. But karma and fate is kind to those who are good. I'm sure they will meet again in their new life.
I think if they had went with how the novel ended, bases on what novel readers have said in the comments, it's…
Now that I've had a couple days to process my feelings on the ending. I don't feel as empty anymore. Being able to give his friends a happy ending is what TLC wanted so this ending isn't so bad to me anymore. It still stings that he is left alone. I'm just going to have to imagine fate will be kind to him and reunite him with his friends in time.
Either episode 19 or 20 , AShei explains to ML that she helps him because she feels she has a sense of purpose…
To me, she wasn't lying when she said that. By the end of the drama though, they both end up in each other's hearts. It's too bad it could never be between them.
Me too 😭 it really feels a bit empty when they sacrificed their lives without the other people knowing what they did. But that's the kind of people they are. Self sacrificing.
Can’t believe this is almost over. I absolutely love this drama and will certainly miss TLC and his “family”…
Yes! I don't particularly care if they hint at romance or not between TLC and AS (even though that would make me happiest) but please let them both survive and please let TLC still have his new found family.
Based on the comments, people really don’t know how to handle a morally ambiguous character other than to blindly…
I don't mind morally ambiguous but at this point ZCJ is just going down a dark path because of her insecurities and obsessions. I'm hoping there is some redemption for her at the end.
The main casting are not my ideal cast. I'll still check out the first few episodes though when it's released.
