Love your perspective. But I disagree with ending. It looks like it was double Suicide and the two glow like ghosts…
Yes, I understand your point of view, this detail can be understanded in many ways and one of them is suicide. I agree they should have make it more clear. For me, I took it as if they decided to go live in some small village or somewhere alone far from the chaos and have calm life, and they did plant the white olive tree. Then of course they cannot live forever, so after their death, they are portraited there as a 2 ghosts looking at the grown tree. So if you want, you can take it this way, which is more peaceful and not so tragic.
Okay, to be honest, some of us didnt get their "dream ending", but if we have watched the show carefully, in this world its the realistic ending. I know, I have cried a lot, and I mean A LOT, but somehow, it is not that bad ending, they survived together, got married and even went to the other world together. For them, they finally found their peace, they dont need to be scared of anything now.
For the actors - they did an amazing job, the whole plot literally "sucked" me in. CZY showed us an amazing character, the same goes for Liang Jie, she did also really good. But praise need also other actors, I would say all of them did an amazing job, because if there is one person who dont know what to do, it will affect the whole show.
The OST? Amazing. Moving. I love to listen to it, when I need to calm down or anything. Yes, it also makes me cry because of memories and realization, but this OST deserves a praise aswell.
So far, its really one of the best cdramas I have ever watched. Whole storyline is really great and show us, that these things are happening in this world and we should cherish the fact, that we dont have to live in this situation. Also, it makes me realise that army, volunteers, doctors and other people are fighting there for peace, for their families, and they should be never forgotten.
