Ryan maturing would've been great if it happened over a couple of episodes instead of five minutes of the last episode. And Jane going no contact with Ryan for FIVE YEARS should've earned him a kick in the balls no matter how fine he is.

This show turned out to be such a letdown. It's a great example that no matter how great the visuals are it doesn't make up for bad writing. Parbdee needs to reassess where they're investing their time and money.

I think the sister is traumatized by her history as a foster child and that's why her relationship with her boyfriend is screwed up

The social commentary about the patriarchy is still in there. We had the scene where the ahjumma lectured her about making breakfast for her husband and later she says I work hard too why should I make you breakfast. There's also the scene where the lawyer takes her daughter to the police station and another scene where a woman is working out because her husband isn't paying child support and she's going to kick his ass at his expensive second wedding. Those are just three I can think of off the top of my head but I know there's more. Yes the show is tropey but it's the way it fills in the lines of the tropes that's special.
