After ep 10, I kinda got the kidβs whining, but ML using him like a puppet after hearing his fatherβs wish…
I agree with everything you're saying. It also bothered me when he had the little King publicly approve his marriage to Hui Ju knowing his mother would be enraged and that the child would have to bear the brunt of the fallout. But then I remind myself this is a fluffy Disney love story and nothing should be taken that seriously π
Unpopular opinion: the Queen Mother actress is genuinely phenomenal πβ¨ her screen presence is absolutely…
I feel the same way and also add Steve Noh who plays the prime minister. Even though I don't like the writing for his character I think he's a phenomenal actor. His micro expressions are incredible.
For real! Are the police incompetent? This is the third fire. Did no one retrofit sprinklers in the palace? No…
I'm obviously joking about it being Ring cameras but they could have cameras that aren't connected to the internet but are monitored by security. Plus everyone who enters and leaves the palace is recorded at the gate so they would know exactly who was on the premises at the time of the fires. There's staff crawling over the grounds, they didn't see who entered the building? But like I said, this is way too much thought for a romantic fantasy drama (as in feeding fantasies, not magic obv).
For real! Are the police incompetent? This is the third fire. Did no one retrofit sprinklers in the palace? No Ring cameras? And why are these buildings instantly engulfed in fire? People are pissed than I-An married a commoner but no outcry over his failure as regent to investigate these fires? I'm clearly thinking too hard about this tho, it's not that kind of drama π
No wonder you found the romance meh if you did not notice IU and Byeon Wooseok, which romance actually has kept…
I've loved both leads in other dramas, but they're not doing it for me in this one. I don't know if it's a writing or a directing issue but I don't think it's giving.
And it's solely because of Gong Seong Yeon and Steven Noh. They are playing 3D chess with their acting while everyone else is playing checkers with a cardboard set. I really hope that the success of this drama gets them cast in lead roles because they deserve it. Looks and talent, they're both the whole package.
I'm old enough to remember the 90s and back then Japan had the same kind of cultural influence that Korea has today. Japan was the trendsetter and their dramas were exported all over Asia. It's kind of sad to see what's happened to Japan's influence today. But I'm happy that Netflix is making these older dramas available to a worldwide audience. The 90s classic Jdramas have a wonderfully grounded vibe that Kdramas have never had. You feel like these were real people you could've bumped into on the street or sat next to in a bar.
I saw this drama on netflix and 50% of OST wasn't the original so it's very disapointing, at least the quality…
I went looking on the usual sites to find the original OST and the visual quality was so bad that it looked like I was watching it through the bottom of a coke bottle so pick your poison π
Adding to this, episode 26 she says her period is a week late. Sheβs always denying him a kiss though thereβs…
It was the scene when they return to Finland and they stay in her younger brother's apartment. They're kissing in bed and then the camera pans out of the window and is obscured by the curtain.
K-dramas are wild sometimes lol. The way it's a common trope to have CEOs and managers treat their employees like…
I hate how Hui Ju screams at her employees and the palace staff. I know it's played for laughs but it makes me like her less. I'm mostly enjoying the drama but this is definitely points off.
I wish people who dislike this drama would express their dislike for it without looking down on those who like…
A rational person on MDL? In this economy??? π No but seriously you are absolutely right but people get way too over invested in their drama opinions
Romance: Meh.
Politics: π₯π₯π₯π₯π₯
