I completely avoid the comments on dramas I'm not caught up on. It's impossible to stop people from spoiling.

Same! I'm surprised by how many people hate live watching. I love talking with people week by week and guessing where the plot will go.

They don't 🥲 the drama gets super draggy and contrived in the last few episodes so you just have to enjoy it as a nostalgia trip.

In a way I wish we hadn't had that scene because it makes the chemistry between the leads feel weak by comparison.

I'm old enough to remember the 90s and back then Japan had the same kind of cultural influence that Korea has today. Japan was the trendsetter and their dramas were exported all over Asia. It's kind of sad to see what's happened to Japan's influence today. But I'm happy that Netflix is making these older dramas available to a worldwide audience. The 90s classic Jdramas have a wonderfully grounded vibe that Kdramas have never had. You feel like these were real people you could've bumped into on the street or sat next to in a bar.

I went looking on the usual sites to find the original OST and the visual quality was so bad that it looked like I was watching it through the bottom of a coke bottle so pick your poison 😭

It was the scene when they return to Finland and they stay in her younger brother's apartment. They're kissing in bed and then the camera pans out of the window and is obscured by the curtain.

I hate how Hui Ju screams at her employees and the palace staff. I know it's played for laughs but it makes me like her less. I'm mostly enjoying the drama but this is definitely points off.

IRL it's incredibly dangerous. You're supposed to always assume the gun is loaded.

I love that the drama took a lot of risks and I didn't mind that it had unlikable characters. But the plot didn't hold up in the end and I feel like the female lead was miscast. So I rated it a 7.5 which is what I give dramas I enjoyed watching but that have serious flaws. It has a 6.2 rating on Douban which isn't the worst but isn't great either.

The eunuch's was so cute and funny. Things like that did happen in real life but I never expected to see it in a drama.

It's very cute and the FL is very likeable. She has good reasons for the deception and she's remoseful later on

I hated that I-An dragged the little King into the political mess with the marriage. the poor kid was put on the spot in front of a huge audience and forced to go against his mother who we know won't take it well. not cool at all. I felt protective of the little kid 😭

The show is signaling pretty hard that they're going to become Hui Ju's allies, not villains, especially the SIL.

Do you think they'll really go through with it? Because I'm not sure. It would be a big leap forward for a kdrama if they made the character canonically queer. I'm not convinced they're going to do it. But I'd love to be wrong.

The show was kind of losing me with how Hui Ju screams at the help but then it completely won't me back with that kiss, wow! 😍

I have to admit I was rolling my eyes through the ||car scene. Ain't no way the prime minister would allow Hui Ju to drive the crown prince (it would be only authorized drivers allowed after what happened to Princess Diana) or a thorough inspection of the car (car was serviced by a non-approved shop). Also, why is it in dramas when the brakes go out no one thinks to use the parking brake

I really enjoyed eps 3 and 4! The baseball game was super cute. People were being critical of BYS not emoting in earlier episodes but I think he doesn't do well with stoic characters. He's much better being goofy in love, so now that we're into the overt in love phase he's a lot more engaging. But I did have one beef with the episode (threaded behind spoiler tag)
